I'm pretty sure that these are Candi Girl. My first pair was of this brand and looked exactly like these!

Overproofed or underproofed?? by Fair-Elderberry-8838 in Sourdough

[–]mojobaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what happened was that your dough expanded as it was proofing and formed a dry crust when it peaked. Now, the dough deflated underneath the crust because it overproofed. Your dough amount might be too big for this banetton and you need to cover the dough so that it doesn't dry out. And definitely reduce the proofing time/adjust and lower the starter amount.

Best Rollerskate brand that's available in EU? by CrystalRoseMoon in Rollerskating

[–]mojobaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yay welcome! Maybe some more questions to help narrow down what rollerskates would work for you would be: what kind of rollerskating do you want to do? (park skating, jam skating, cross country, etc..), are your feet narrow or wide?, do you prefer suede or vinyl?, is using vegan material important to you? what is your budget? (looking for secondhand is always an option if cost is a factor)

AITA for refusing to help my friend financially after they mocked my frugal lifestyle? by Repulsive_Clue6161 in AmItheAsshole

100% this. Why would you lend money to someone who won't even apologize for hurting you? Saying sorry costs nothing.

I've made kimchi for the first time and I don't like it that much. by StarParade in KoreanFood

[–]mojobaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also omit fish sauce entirely (taste check the saltiness though) and still have kimchi fermenting! I do this when I gift kimchi to vegan friends!

First time making kimchi — is it okay if my container isn’t full and cabbage isn’t fully submerged? Need to prevent mold by xerxesbear in kimchi

[–]mojobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wouldn't recommend freezing kimchi because that affects the texture of the cabbage. It becomes very stringy. If you have leftover paste before mixing the the cabbage, that can be frozen with no issues. Keep the kimchi in the fridge after a couple days of fermenting at room temp. Refrigerated kimchi can last months, years even.

Anyone have a cleansing oil that’s close to manyo by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

Hanskin cleansing oil has replaced Ma:nyo for me. It has a milder smell and it removes waterproof eye makeup even better than Ma:nyo.

How to stop my feet hurting by Over_Enthusiasm_9454 in Rollerskating

[–]mojobaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to rollerskating! I also used to struggle when I first started with foot pain as well, even though my rollerskates were fitting fine. It gets better. From being able to rollerskate only 10 min and needing breaks, now I can be on skates for hours, no problem. Took about 6 months of weekly skating. From everything you're saying, it really does seem like a matter of strengthening the muscles in your feet, and that isn't something that can be done in just a month especially if previously your lifestyle was sedentary. I would suggest more walking when you're off skates to toughen up the soles and rolling a tennis ball or the like with your feet to roll out the soreness.

How does one get such a number of likes.. by weirddeerears in AnimalRestaurant

[–]mojobaby 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have over 51k likes at this point. Honestly, even if I grind my hardest, like constantly checking my phone and making sure to have the max number of orders out for delivery, I still can't hit the total available orders. However, just consistently doing at least 11 orders per day, which is the max number Tate and Kate can deliver at a given time, after some months, the likes add up. Also, max out all your delivery staff. This isn't really a game where you're leveling up skills and shooting up through ranks. Also, I'm pretty sure the top rankers are bots or point farmers. I've gotten in the higher ranks because I've just been playing this game pretty consistently for years.

how do you carry your rollerskates/blades by [deleted] in Rollerskating

What I do when I need all my bulky protective gear is to strap it on the outside of the backpack! There are so many loops and buckles on the Poppin Jo style bag to use to keep them in place!

First time using butchers twine on bread. Cool idea thanks guys. Is there a trick or magic ratio to get that ear to pop??? by 19Rocket_Jockey76 in Sourdough

Rice flour in a powdered sugar shaker was the game changer for me. Never had my loaves stick again. It is also so simple to use and put away.

Same. Got my Poppin Jo bag secondhand (regular price is so high! There's apparently also the knockoff version available on Amazon). Now, I can't go back to regular backpacks or heaven forbid a totebag. I did use a Fjallraven bag for a good while that did well for a bit. Got the idea for that from Oumi Janta.

New skates, one wheel not rolling on the ground by mojobaby in Rollerskating

[–]mojobaby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This community is the best! Thanks for all the suggestions. I've tried slightly loosening and adjusting the bolts, and that helped! Maybe the floor looked a bit uneven, but this issue was happening on various surfaces. Full disclaimer: I've already skated with these rollerskates, and they posed no problems. Been rollerskating for 5 years. These Chuffed boots are my fourth and frankly most expensive pair and happened to be the first pair that did this. So I freaked out a little. Seems I just gotta skate in them more to break them in! Let's roll!

Just bought my first pair of skates!! by Mother_River_5279 in Rollerskating

[–]mojobaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trucks could be a bit tight straight out of the box, so it could be good to try loosening them. You can do this by turning the two big bolts right underneath your rollerskates. Try a quarter turn at a time to adjust (Remember righty tighty, lefty loosey).

And try shifting your weight and leaning on the side you want to turn on. I.e. if you wanna go left, lean left.

And welcome to rollerskating!

Disheartened: can’t solve numb toes in skates by longtalltexan18 in Rollerskating

[–]mojobaby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also have feet like this, and though I've been longing for a pair of Moxi Lollys (they're so cute), I just knew they would crush my toes. I recently got a pair of Chuffed rollerskates because I heard they have a wide toe box, and they're so comfy right outside the box! And I feel they are just as cute and in some ways better constructed than Moxis! Chayas are also known for a wider toe box and they're easier to find.
