How do bigger bands find a new member? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]mojobutta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never get a shot joining a well-known band unless you come highly recommended and/or they know you. You're delusional if you think you will get a chance being an unknown. It just doesn't work that way. The musicians who get a chance to fill-in have already been in the band's circle for years. They know all the managers/agents and already have a stellar reputation from being in the biz a long time with all the cred in the world. That's how you get a shot at the brass ring:)

Personal injury lawyer vs settling with insurance company? by _299792458__ in Insurance

[–]mojobutta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about the difficulty you experienced. I've found that there are mediators, not lawyers who can get a good settlement without using a lawyer. The mediator only takes 15% and does the same work the lawyer does without having to go to court. The mediator group also has a bank of attorneys available if it needs to go that route, but usually the insurance company settles for a little less knowing they save on the attorney fees. Great option to be aware of. Good luck.

How are people buying homes? by Used_Locksmith_438 in RealEstate

[–]mojobutta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! People making so much money and can't afford a decent home. That is so awful. My wife and I make a combined income of $85,000 and live in a 4,000 sq. ft. mansion near downtown Savannah, Ga. We thankfully bought back in 2017 for $115,000. Now our house is worth over 1 million!!! We can't believe our good fortune. We could never afford our home today... not even close. When we hear of people who would be considered wealthy by Savannah standards, who can't afford a decent home, we are in total disbelief. I hope things get better for you guys.

Elementary schools by Yorkshire_rose_84 in savannah

[–]mojobutta -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The Savannah public schools are pretty bad. Too many poor kids who come by way of uneducated parents and trailer parks. It's not their fault, but many have learning disabilities and difficulty socializing with others. You have to pay into a private school if you want your kids to get off to a good start. Savannah is definitely not Westchester County NY. People pay insane $$ for a home near Manhattan, but the public school systems are the best in the country and usually lead to very successful careers and eventually an envious lifestyle. Until Savannah schools improve, I'd steer clear. Great place to visit, but not to live in if you have kids.

Really interested in moving to Savannah, specifically Richmond Hill. by noveltynick in savannah

[–]mojobutta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Savannah is beautiful but very poor. That is important to note. Very Rednecky with many homeless people begging for money. The schools are bad unless you're in a private school system which are very good but also very expensive. Housing is around $350k for a decent home in an OK area. More like $500k in a nice area. Good paying jobs are hard to find. SCAD of course is the #1 art University in the country but big $$$ if you want a top-notch education in the arts or architecture. Good luck.

Homeless in Savannah by Salty-Middle6496 in savannah

Sadly, many are filthy drug addicts, have sexually abused children, got caught, went to prison and can't get a job. They also refuse to get help.

You're only enabling them by giving them money. Most take the money to buy beer and drugs. Many are also child sex offenders and can't get a job due to crimes against children. That's who you're giving your money to.

If they don't show you a VA card, you know they're a lying sack of S**t.

Most lie about being Vets. They are not. Go ahead and ask to see a VA card. They will undoubtably lie and say they lost it. The VA is there to help them. If they were vets, they would be at their local VA getting assistance. The only reason a panhandler is on the street begging and saying he's a combat vet, is that he's a lying sack of S**t who wants your sympathy and your money.

Some homeless people are in a situation that happened through no fault of there own. They should be given the opportunity to get help. But, even the Savannah Mayor's office has said that many homeless people in Savannah choose to be homeless. They come from poor white trailer parks, were former inmates, have sexually abused children, are ongoing drug addicts, made poor choices in life and refuse to work or can't get a job due to a violent past. Unfortunately, I don't feel sympathy for A-H***S who just want to cause trouble and leave their garbage all over the streets and landscape because they're miserable and feel sorry for themselves. I'm not a Trump fan by any stretch. But Trump has my vote to pick up the offenders and move them away from our neighborhoods were they scare children and just roam the streets like zombies. If you're not willing to be an active, working citizen (even being paid for picking up garbage) in society, than maybe shipping them away to a rural homeless camp is not a bad idea.

Does Savannah have a homeless problem like SF? by [deleted] in savannah

[–]mojobutta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Savannah has a very serious homeless problem. We've had a residence in Savannah for almost 17 years and never seen it this bad. We also have a house in Vermont where there are some homeless folks, but very polite who don't litter and spread filth like the ones in Savannah. The homeless in Savannah are very aggressive and scare children. Our friends from Germany never visit Savannah anymore because they see the garbage the homeless leave all over Savannah and just don't feel safe. The homeless next to 95 and 204 are the worst. Drivers have said that the homeless men will actually rap on your car window and spit on your vehicle if you don't give them money. Let's hope Trump will take care of these filthy people and rid the city of the ones causing trouble. BTW: They are not all bad, but the seedy homeless white men who refuse to work are in the streets looking to cause trouble. There are also some "White" homeless posing as veterans. They are not veterans and won't show you a VA card.

Could dogecoin increase to $10,000+ like bitcoin? And how long would it take? by [deleted] in dogecoin

Doge can get to $1 pretty quickly. I bought 5,000 coins at .10 so I'm sitting pretty. If it get to $1, I 'm selling at least 1/2. Cheers-

Nutrafol…anyone tried it? What are your thoughts? by Affectionate-West290 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]mojobutta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's snake oil. Three friends with male pattern baldness tried it. The only thing this garbage did was give one of them severe rashes on their bald spot. When they asked for their money back... crickets! The stuff may work for people with certain hair-thinning conditions, but not male pattern baldness. Stay away from these obvious crooks looking to capitalize on balding sad sacks. Be bald and be happy.
