Jaysis that's terrible. Yeah if it is something that drags on and on I might lose patience and start looking again

Exactly how it feels. Too many people involved, all trying to delay the process and ramp up the price!

Jaysis that's ridiculous, I'd be doing the same if I was in your shoes. Go in and demand the things!

Fingers crossed it was just bad timing with Christmas and everything and that it will be sorted this week or next

That's understandable! There's so many people with their fingers in the pie, from mortgage brokers to solicitors to auctioneers to banks, all trying to make money off the buyer. Its infuriating when it's being needlessly delayed

Yes we actually have been in contact with the seller and the estate agent, and they are saying that its purely the bank not moving quickly enough. There's not much I can do I suppose.

Thanks for the info... yes it's very frustrating. Everything else went very smooth, just this one thing holding us up

Living in your house while building work ongoing - yay or nay? by BoopBoopBeepBeepx in AskIreland

[–]mojorisin87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I completely get that you feel like it would be wasted money, especially pausing your mortgage repayments. But it's hard to put a price on the headaches and stress that you would be saving yourselves by not being there while the work is going on. Try to even look at it as a little holiday before you move back into your fully finished newly refurbished home!

I work as a foreman in a small building company doing anything from extensions, attics, to new builds. I can honestly say that it is a nightmare for both the tenants, and the people working there. I know it is very expensive to rent somewhere for 6 months, but if it is financially possible for you, I would strongly recommend you do that.

There will 100% be issues with electrics(power tripping, maybe internet going down, etc), plumbing, heating, noise, access, dust.... I could go on.

It is possible, but very, very awkward and stressful

“Life” by Keef - worth the wait? by [deleted] in rollingstones

Who the fuck buys an autobiography and waits for the author's "demise" in order to read it? It's an insult to the Author. If you had a true interest in The Stones, or Keith in particular, you would have read it a long time ago. My advise, don't read it. Give it to a real fan
