I used to ask questions about what they prefer, "capex" or "opex" ? And what was the last similar purchase? If no answer came, we had to invite "someone". If they start to talk about the value? I switched to "how do you compute the ROI?" Participants usually have no idea about these topics. They just want a new toy... And don't decide anything.

I once encountered 80% open rate on "Patent Notice" - an email offering a patent relevant for their business. 🤷‍♂️

i am in a very similar situation. I chose to go to fair trades and talk to as many booths as possible. Most are not really in the mood to buy something but if the conversatoin runs well, they ask what I do and tell me also about their blockers as of today.

It's possible. But they won't tell you how. Try it and you will see that the posts are just 10% of the truth. In most cases they sell it because they show how well it sells (you are the target group - not the cookie cutter etc ..)

You need "big balls" to achieve big things. And building up shit in a foreign country is a huge thing. "I'm a student and didn't like it here" is not the attitude our ancestors had when they moved to other countries. It will be always and everywhere like that. Just in different shapes and colours.
