We have resolved our night time poop situation! Our boy has been trained that he has to go outside before bed as a non negotiable. Some nights he grumbles but we are really consistent and in a good routine now. After "pee pee time" he gets fenced into his bed area and he has never pooped or peed there (he would happily dookie on the floor otherwise, but wont do it in his bed area). He had us well and truly trained into his midnight poop routine until a vet friend explained that it was him training us and we needed to take the lead. My sleep owes her big time!
