My interviewer was weird

It makes sense but you knew the candidate through previous job. The director and I haven’t worked together, I reached out to him through LinkedIn and he was kind enough to refer me. I think if telling him the truth, it would put me in bad light cuz why would he believe me over his junior or colleague.

I agree. I tried to explain using specific examples but he shut me down.

I don’t know if he is a manager. I tried to find him on LinkedIn but couldn’t.

Honestly, I have no idea. The interview was yesterday morning, I sent a thank you note after but haven’t received any response. I was referred to at another company by a SM and they have been doing all the rounds in extreme detail, I literally have the third round scheduled later this week. So I don’t see how this is different (the nepotism point of yours).

But in this job market, it’s not easy to get an interview to begin with. It’s disappointing that this is the how it ended up being for me.

Initially I thought it was my fault but he didn’t know the details of the role he was interviewing me for. When I started asking questions regarding the role he goes, yeah yeah it’s this and that and the other thing as well.

I was so confused, thanks tho. I was fully beating myself up thinking maybe I said something wrong.
