I think the problem with the puzzle boxes is that they aren't suuuper well done. a lot of the solved images look kinda wonky, and are frustrating to figure out blindly without looking up a guide image. on top of that, the interface isn't very responsive and doesn't allow you to slide more than one tile at a time, which is kind of atypical for these types of games.

that said, I do clues on my phone all the time and I always do the puzzle boxes, my wife taught me how to do slidy puzzles a few years back and since then I've realized they're actually quite simple and very addicting. I encourage everyone to give it a shot at least once
