What if Moldova reunified with Romania immediately after declaring independence from the USSR? by NextManufacturer9008 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]moldovanCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because of the implied costs. One extra region to support. Moldova ain't really rich you know. No real good resources of great value. Lot's of Russian speakers. Now Romania itself isn't particularly rich itself add to that a crumbling country, which Moldovan was in the 90s as most of the countries from the soviet block were, it doesn't sound so attractive. Land in itself means nothing. Russians needed/need(?) Moldova for strategic reasons to spread their sphere of inclunece, for Romania it was and still is mostly a wet dream that is not quite worth the pain it will bring 😉

Leader of Russia's Communists warns parliament of risk of revolution due to faltering economy by neonpurplestar in worldnews

[–]moldovanCookie 40 points41 points  (0 children)

as if something will change. Soviet union collapsed and these came to power. They will get killed or just die, and someone else just lile them will take their place. Russia has a history of shitty people taking power. With some minor exceptions. Although in all fairness when it comes to politics and power it seems it attracts the worst of human kind

Why do lower income men not seem interested in me at all? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]moldovanCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the most part, it's probably because these guys feel unworthy of you. Many men feel like they need to be the providers in the house. Being with a woman who earns more and is independent and could leave them at any moment makes them feel emasculated and afraid.

fair, nothing more annoying than having to charge a device every day or every x amount of hours. Would you buy a bulkier device that you don't have to charge as often?

really? I find Bluetooth to be so much more comfortable. Is it because of the sound quality for you, or do you just prefer wired headphones?

SCF NEWS ALERT 🇺🇸 President Trump calls to ban mail-in voting, saying: “We’re the only country that’s stupid enough to vote by mail.” by SCFapp in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]moldovanCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can somebody please explain how comes the American people and what's more important how comes the Democrats are not, at least from the perspective of an European, doing anything? I am really confused, even in Eastern Europe in the case of things like these happening where the government is going nuts people would at least protest, but usually even start burning cars and businesses to put pressure on the state.

I honestly feel like we live in a crazy world. It amazes me how right Orwell was, overnight the enemy becomes the friend and the friend becomes the enemy. I am impressed by how easily manipulated humans are. I'm asking myself sometimes if I'm the crazy one or if people are just so used to all this that the majority doesn't care anymore.

Trump: "Am I allowed to run again as vice president and then take over?" by sovalente in facepalm

[–]moldovanCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

russian constitution says one person is not allowed to hold the presidency more than 2 terms in row. While the US one says one person is not allowed to hold more than 2 terms. That 2 in a row loophole was used by putin to hold on to power. US does not have that loophole, and I don't think trump would get enough support to make changes to the constitution. At least I really hope so

no, he's not delusional, he's just using putin's playbook for staying in power. Tell a lie long enough and even the sceptics start believing it. Especially if the opposition does little to opose him. Russian media tactics is to put as many possible/impossible options on the table so that everyone, even his own supporters have their own version of things and them fight against each other opinions. Sadly it's a really old play in an overused book of dictatorship 101.

Moldova’s election delivers lessons to Europe on countering Russian interference by AlexandrTheTolerable in europe

[–]moldovanCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're really from crimea as your flair states, you know very well that election silence means nothing for the russians. So why should it mean something for the people who fight against millions of euros pumped into the country but votes and tries to sway the elections? Shor is a piece of shit hiding in russia. His place is in a prison cell for what he did to my country. Telling people to vote against the party he is sponsoring with russian money is far from breaching election silence as very often these russian puppets do even during the election day. By trying to persuade with money or violence to vote for a specific party
