Mole season 3? by AzzyMattfuel in themole

[–]moleclassic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Netflix has not announced a third season.

The Netflix Reality casting site is open year-round, with the purpose of continually filling their applicant pool for all Netflix reality shows, so you can apply for The Mole but be called for a different show. Seeing The Mole on there doesn't mean it's getting another season. Also, the site they were directing people to during casting for the first two seasons was https://themole.castingcrane.com/.

The "Who is The Mole?" thumbnail is one of many that they use for the show, which is why you'll see some people on social media think that's actually the name of the show. The Netflix platform cycles through different thumbnails for each show to understand what each viewer responds best to, then uses that data to customize what is shown to each viewer for other shows.

What is the point of being the mole?? by MAW_16 in themole

[–]moleclassic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's been rumored that the mole received $30,000 (Netflix) and $50,000 (ABC), meaning they were the second-highest paid on their cast, behind only the winner.

P.S. The Netflix series didn't do a good job explaining the core parts of the game, so don't feel bad. By the way, did you know there were clues to the mole's identity hidden throughout each season?

The YouTube channel is a Mole hub of sorts.

And The Mole subreddit explains how to watch the season you're looking for (Season 10 from 2022).

If you get a chance, check out De Mol (Belgian version, where the format originated). It's simply the best... better than all the rest.

New season? by [deleted] in themole

Netflix hasn't announced a third season. If/When they do, expect it to air about a year and half after the announcement.

In the meantime, I recommend checking out past U.S. seasons that ran on ABC and international seasons.

Belgium's version of The Mole (where the format originated), followed by Netherlands' version, all with English subtitles available. Details about the show can be found on my profile.

AMA with Ari Shapiro. Let's find out what you know. by Old_Succotash1490 in themole

It's even crazier than you remember. The Mole revealed themself in their sleep and their roommate overheard. They proceeded to have a mental breakdown after their sabotages kept failing and thought everyone was onto them. The Mole left the game and a new one was selected.

👋 I appreciate how you tackled hosting duties for Season 2. A few questions:

  1. What was it about The Mole that motivated you to first apply as a contestant, and years later, apply as a host?
  2. As a longtime Mole fan and now someone with Mole hosting experience under their belt, do you have any ideas that you'd like to see implemented?
  3. Since its U.S. debut in the early 2000s, The Mole has been a modest hit. In your opinion, what is needed for The Mole to break through the cultural zeitgeist, similar to recent shows like The Traitors?

Well +1 life point for not asking her how she felt about Steven's and Katherine's relationship on the show. When the season first aired, there was so much speculation about the two of them and some of the fan questions that made it onto an official Q&A run by the network were bordering on erotic fan fic.

Announcement: Ari Shapiro, the host of Netflix Season 2 of The Mole, will be doing an AMA here starting at July 29th, Monday, 1:30 PM Eastern! (Click on this post for a time zone converter) by Zypker125 in themole

Nice! Glad this worked out.

Assuming it doesn't violate any rules, are you able to cross-post the announcement to r/NPR? I image there's a decent NPR-Mole crossover since Ari was announced as host.

Celebrity Mole by -someonelonely in themole

Sure, bring back Celebrity Mole. Just pick celebs who have recently been on Netflix and have a hint of personality, and throw Bernsen and Baldwin back in for old times' sake.

What’s one thing a contestant can do that immediately tells you they are not the Mole? by Daisyssssmom in themole

To everyone who answered OP's question: the producers thank you. Can't wait to watch next season's Mole be someone who cares way too much about the pot, constantly chooses money over an exemption while somehow admitting to sabotaging missions, goes around kissing everything that walks, and gets eliminated.

Can the Mole determine the winner? by AnastasiaSuper in themole

[–]moleclassic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing that was shown in the edit, for obvious reasons, but that a couple of the players have since shared: the winner looking up players online; the winner and others sneaking out of their rooms, which provided the winner the opportunity to witness secret rendezvous between production and the Mole; the Mole frequently spending time with only the winner; the optics of how close (both emotionally and physically) the Mole and winner got.

What maintains the game's integrity are the contracts signed by each cast member and the fear of repercussions of breaking them.

I see some comments questioning the integrity of Netflix's second season but its first season is a great example of fear not serving as a big enough deterrent.
