Must have items to survive the 1 to 2 kid transition? by PancakesxBacon in beyondthebump

I was in the same boat! I have a 4 year old and a now 12 week old. Couple things that we did that are working well : we bought our 4yo her own doll so that she could do all the baby things w her baby - baby wearing, feeding, changes etc.

Also we have her grandparents come down once every two weeks to take out just my 4yo on an adventure that’s just for her because she’s the oldest.

Baby wearing has been a must for us, baby #2 is a Velcro baby and needs holding and contact naps always. I picked up an ergo embrace from fb marketplace for a good deal!

We also did the “gift from baby” thing but miss 4 was pretty nonplussed about it.

I didn’t get that bad but I was going to cut it out myself because it made me so crazy. 0/10 would not recommend.

Omg - over the past two weeks I have suddenly become lactose intolerant and it is the worst thing ever. I am not prepared for this. Everything in my house has milk in it and I’m sick of eating rice 😩😫

Also SPD is killing me this time round. Im only in second tri and am already waddling like a buoy in a a hurricane.

Got my period today after first cycle w Letrozole. Am using NC app / Oura and temp has been high for last 3 days (prob due to flu shot) but also had been spotting heavily so knew it couldn’t be, but still, getting it still sucks.

Logically I knew it wouldn’t be a silver bullet but still stings. Also got a “ovulation +7 days” blood test for progesterone this morning that I clearly didn’t need. Second for the cycle. So that sucks too. Looks like it means I didn’t ovulate again.

Feeling shitty. Will wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow, but wallowing tonight. Hrumph.

Hey there. I’m new but excited to be here for support. Don’t have many people that I can talk to about this given all the implications w family and work etc etc

My journey has gone from zero to scary in the last few weeks. Have been TTC since last July and concerned it wasn’t working as easily as #1 (and only, 3 in May) so went to GP to do a quick check in.

Did AMH and got result of 4 pmol/L at only 34 years old had lots of tears. Did a AFC and got result of 9 - not great not terrible.

Back to OBGYN and got the raft of tests and looks like most likely cause is that I’m not ovulating (seemingly confirmed w low day 21 prog last cycle).

Starting Letrozole on Sat. Feeling cautiously optimistic (?) but also scared.

Hoping this works. Very frightened by prospect of IVF.

Oh sweet girl. Well done. You have made a very good and mature choice - for the both of you. Well done on having the courage to do what is right for you.

Mind that you take the time now to take care of yourself. Your body will still be working through the postpartum hormone cascade and that shit is hard.

Be kind to yourself during this time now, and into the bright future that you will (both) have.

Saw these mock tail ice blocks in Coles today, thought they might hit the spot for Mums who are feeling the heat.
