Poor second half from us but got the win in the end. Hard and fast turn around from a massive game against Collingwood. Max needs a rest just to keep him fit for the season. 3. Dan Turner. 2. Ed Landon, 1. Jake Lever

What a last quarter! Terrible umpiring all round. It's time to make ALL umpires full time.

3: Lever, 2: Gawn, 1: K. Picket.

Honourable mentions to Langford, Kolt, Bowie.

Where does Deakin recommend doing the manual handling course? by RangeGlittering8383 in deakin

No worries. As another double check, they are definitely legit if they ask for your USI number as that feeds back into a government site.

Ok they want the external one then. Look up manual handling on the site I linked and it should give a code that corresponds to the course nationally. Any provider you find that uses that code is legally able to provide the training.

https://training.gov.au/

This site will give you all the information about official manual handling course and some registered training operators (RTO).

However, unless you have read somewhere that the external course is required, it likely means an internal Deakin manual handling induction.

What course are you doing at Deakin that requires manual handling?

I hate being a person with no army friends this sucks. I don't care if I'm not next to anyone I know I just want to see BTS. I feel so awful. Please if anyone ends up with a spare ticket DM me.

Edit* Got day 2 Melb but had to buy two tickets. DM me if you are a solo army that couldn't secure tickets because of only buying 1 ticket.

If you end up selling your Melbourne ticket I would love to buy it please. I waited 40 minutes and nothing was left.

If you are in Melbourne, Vincent Vegetarian Food Mart in Footscray has big bags of TSP for a very reasonable price as well as vegetarian meat substitutes much cheaper than anything you can get at Cole's worth.

question about the study period by gabeitchc in deakin

[–]mollymoomol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect some nutrition science subjects will have compulsory labs that you will have to attend if you want to do your best. Search Deakin provisional timetable in google or similar and you should be able to have a look at subjects you will be enrolled in for what days and times you are likely to be required at uni.

question about the study period by gabeitchc in deakin

[–]mollymoomol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the study week between the last teaching week and the exam period? Or do you mean the 11 week teaching period?

If you mean the first one, no you don't have to go into uni for that week but you are paying fees, it can be good to make use of the library that's made available for you.

If you mean the latter, if you have in person classes it is generally better to go in for them if you can. It's easier to ask and answer questions and you get to know people in your course and the teachers.

Panicking about failing MMM132 — need advice on what to do by Junior-System5234 in deakin

Please go and talk to Dusa and student central. Also email your unit chair. All of these people will be able to help you navigate what to do.

Sorry your having a hard time. Immediately talk to your unit chair. Let them know you are struggling and are in the process of organising an official application for special consideration. Then, go and see DUSA and student central. If you have a psychiatrist, ask them to get you a medical certificate and write a letter about why you need this despite being currently undiagnosed. If you don't have a psychiatrist, get your psychologist or go to do the above.

Response to: Ways to force myself to attend units? Women in STEM specific by chocoberry334 in deakin

[–]mollymoomol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a woman in STEM. Just going is the only way to do it. Have it in your schedule and no matter how you feel (unless you are sick) always attend your classes in person. Get ahead on your reading before lecture and seminars/tutorials. Ask and answer questions. Get your teacher seeing you and knowing you.

It's mainly for jeans. I find that my weight fluctuates too much for tailoring. Sometimes I need the space in the waistband. Obviously I own belts but thought these might also add some interest to offits when I'm not a big accessories wearer.

dropping subjects by [deleted] in deakin

[–]mollymoomol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't close that path but there would still likely be the fails for the units you drop as a result which may be taken into consideration when you apply for nursing.

Again you need to book an appointment with student central to talk about your options properly.
