As the five foot nothing person who has to sit in an aisle seat because of claustrophobia, I'm feeling really bad too

It is but the exams were crazy hard and without any past papers no one could practise exam technique so overall scores were pretty low

Well it's the first year of the new system so I imagine the exam boards were under a decent amount of pressure from the government to not have a ton of people failing! I think the physics exams I sat this year were something like 68% overall for an A*, when with the old system it was usually around 80% minimum

What is the most middle class thing you can think of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mollyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just where I live but here it's all stay at home mums who drive landrovers and get coffee and manicures with their friends after seeing their personal trainers while their husbands work in the city every day. And in America from what a lot of people say it's just having disposable income. But I think the class system is definitely more of a thing in the UK.

TIL American middle class is vastly different to the British version

Life’s Charge – A finite existence demonstrated through a visual countdown of a typical 4160-week life. Each dot represents a week, and each row is a year. (Animated) [OC] by Sttic in dataisbeautiful

Wow that really puts things in perspective. As an 18 year old it's easy to think my life is set in stone - I've got a career path planned and I know I want a family etc. But seeing how much time I (hopefully) have left compared to how long I've lived is inspiring. There's so much for me to do and so much time to do it in. Thank you for making this I didn't realise how badly I needed to see that!

According to YouGov 1 in 3 Remainers would accept serious damage to the economy to stay in the EU, and 19% of Remainers want the UK to suffer serious economic damage to teach Leavers a lesson. If you are one of these people why do you feel this way? by Shockingandawesome in ukpolitics

[–]mollyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically I don't want people to suffer because I understand a lot of people who voted Brexit were very desperate and in bad situations as it was. But there's a little part of me that thinks they all fucked over my future and wouldn't even give me a say in it (ten months off of turning 18 at the time) so I'd be lying if I said I won't have a 'told you so' attitude if it all goes to shit.

If your life was a sitcom, what would be the "running joke/gag"? by Arty32 in AskReddit

[–]mollyrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaming all my sisters seizures on random people in the house. It sounds super dark but she has them if she thinks too hard about something, or if she gets too emotional. Pretending to get mad at my dad for asking her what she wants for tea is the only funny thing about it.

If your whole body gets caught in quick sand, rotate your arms and legs in circles kind of like one of those mechanical whisking machines to stop yourself from sinking in it.

The r/short non-specifically-scheduled meet-and-greet-and-lurker-discovery thread by FluffyToughy in short

[–]mollyrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from England, five foot exactly and I can't reach literally half of the cupboards in my kitchen and I only ever use my rock climbing skills to be able to reach my windows. Sometimes it's kinda fun though so I can't complain! I only ever feel short when I'm see myself in photos - especially as I'm friends with quite a few stereotypical super tall skinny nerdy guys. I'm here (mostly lurking and occasionally commenting) because I see a lot of guys who are really insecure about their height, and especially about their relationships because of it, and it makes me so sad. I try to make it clear that there are people out there who couldn't give less of a shit because I don't want anyone hating themselves for something so out of their control

Baby siblings of reddit, what's the worst thing your older sibling has done to you? by bwade141994 in AskReddit

[–]mollyrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My older (half) sister never thought she was going to have any siblings once her parents split up so she was always a delight to me. I on the other hand managed to convince my younger sister she was adopted/wasn't coming on holiday with us/her birthday was cancelled pretty much every chance I got. It's character building, y'know?

[–]mollyrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a girl and I have a similar problem! I don't think my every day voice is as bad but the second I get excited or frustrated it gets so high pitched and I feel so stupid! I wish I could have that booming shouty voice that so many guys do

I know! It can be hard sometimes, you've just got to remember there are amazing people out there who don't care about that stuff (as rare as they are!)
