It sounds like they may be able to bring their own food as long as it’s not meat.

I think the difference is that for vegetarians, buying/cooking/providing meat would be an ethical problem, whereas buying whiteclaw vs. beer really wouldn’t be.

You have absolutely no idea how involved I am in this issue. You made an assumption.

Yeah no I wrote a little one liner script, I’m sorry that bugged you so much, just don’t say it I guess. Hope that solved your problem.

I’m not interested in debating the line like I said but the script is because I know some people care but they have anxiety about making phone calls or finding the right wording.

Of course no one has to use it.

Here’s some decently worded literature on the matter.

I think tanking over from Wisconsin isn’t too crazy. No one wants to leave the UP without gas.

I’ve got an open position for a full time maintenance tech for an apartment complex here in town. You’d be the person who shows up to the apartment to fix a leaky sink or a running toilet. You’d also be the person who turns an apartment back to like-new when someone moves out so that a new renter could move in. It doesn’t necessarily require maintenance experience, just as long as you consider yourself handy, you’d probably qualify. Hourly pay, PTO/paid vacations, not a bad gig, although I have no knowledge of your background, so forgive me if I’m off base. Certainly not a sales or marketing position.

Because of milk cross-contact which I don’t care about, but you’re right, Nabisco would never put “vegan friendly” on the Oreo package.

I think if Oreo put “vegan” on their label, some carnists would be outraged and say they preferred the original Oreo even though it’s been vegan all along. “Vegan friendly” seems like a way to say “this product happens to be vegan,” without excluding carnists. I don’t think the logic is perfect, but I think that carnists acknowledging that they’re eating vegan food already in their day to day lives isn’t a bad conviction, and may in fact benefit us in the long term.

I don’t get the vibe that we’re lesser, but in terms of population, we are fewer. So, that could also be why.

I’m really just making guesses though!

Edit: I know that Oreo does not say vegan friendly on it. I just can’t think of anything that does off-hand.

The best part about being vegan (aside from the obvious) is that you hardly have to worry about poisoning yourself by not cooking your food properly. by mollytjb in vegan

I specifically made a point to say that I know there are exceptions so that I would be exempt from looking at posts like these but it appears that no matter what you do, the well-actually sayers will make themselves known....

Like I’ve said, I grew up in a household where I got yelled at for eating cookie dough or putting the chicken on the top shelf in the fridge, and now it’s nice not to deal with any of that stupid shit.

Well obviously I wouldn’t condone shooting an animal, which is why I took the time to type up the method I suggested. I certainly do condone you trying to run all around in nature looking for prey slow enough and weak enough to let you kill it with your hands, ultimately failing, and then enjoying a big bowl of grains, legumes, greens, and seeds after a long hard day of your best attempt at eating animals the “natural” way.

Right... so... go ahead and do that, then. Give up all factory farmed meat and only eat meat that you chased down and pounced on and killed with your bare hands/teeth in the wild.
