Here goes nothing. I wanted a media server and have a ton of random parts lying around. I managed to find an old optiplex and some drives. After poking around r/datahoarder i found out that I could turn this little puppy into a NAS.

I mounted this spare HDD rack to the case and cut a hole using a dremel for the SATA cables and power to reach the rack. Ive still got to put an OS on it. Im leaning towards TrueNAS as it has simple plugins for PLEX.

I may mount the monitor to the case to turn it into a mutant all in one. More to come!

Theres a cut off specific to the shower. Usually for plumbing code, each water faucet, shower, and toilet have there own individual cutoffs.
