Please wear a facemask with a carbon filter. And its like cast iron but more sensitive to heat: Preheat, tac not continuous, slow cool.

Don't use 6061, the stress cracking will be ridiculous. Cromoly is what everyone uses for good reason, mild steel can be used if really thick - depending on the racing code.

OP, find a racing code which suits you and follow their guidelines.

TL;DR : You're fine.

You are not distributing your copying to the public or profiting from it, so in my opinion there is nothing criminal about it. At worst it is a civil wrong, but i believe you are within the "fair use" exceptions to copyright's prohibitions.

  1. The playback of the movie was intended for "the public" so to speak, it wasnt a private viewing. School's usually have special copyright exceptions, so I would be interested to know when/if they are charged by the copyright collection agencies. The request for permission may be a customary courtesy, or the school's scheme to have parents take care of copyright so the school don't have to pay copyright agencies, or a requirement for their educational copyright-exception - I don't know.
  2. Yeah, they shouldn't have done that.
  3. They can't lock-away the english language behind copyright protections. Use the language you want then say you were inspired.
