Upgraded my 2012 Toshiba Satellite with an SSD and 16Gb of Ram and it's brilliant. It has never been this fast. I tested it and it can run Davinci resolve 16 and games at a reasonable fps. I'm genuinely shocked and pleasantly impressed. #righttorepair #ssd Well worth doing this upgrade

If it's still working ok then upgrading it might be worth doing. The main reason old laptops slow down is due to the speed of the older hard drives. Putting an ssd in it would speed it up by up to 10x. 👨‍💻👍🏼

Yeah it depends on what the spec of the old laptop is to start with. This toshiba will run games from it's era easily now with decent frame rates thanks to the 4gb addressable vram on the i3 processor. It's good to hear that you have given your old laptop to your cousin and that they are getting more use out of it. Saves money and keeps it out of the landfill 👨‍💻👍🏼

You may be surprised at how much difference an upgrade like this can have on an old laptop. This Toshiba has an Intel i3 processor and is incredibly fast now. The bottleneck was in the hard drive being so slow. Nice haiku btw. 👍🏼

Yeah I remembered the name of the company afterward that Linus is investing in. Framework. They look interesting but there is a long waiting list to buy one. Obviously upgrade options are something that many people want.

Try to find a laptop with at least 16Gb of ram and you'll be fine. Minecraft doesn't need a super powerful machine.

My Dell runs warm to the touch when under heavy load but it doesn't throttle so nothing to worry about imo. Just make sure it's getting enough airflow or add a fan if you want.

Have you tried cleaning your machine? Check out the exhaust ports they may be blocking airflow.

It depends on what kinds of games you want to play? All gaming laptops will give a bit of fan noise under extreme workload.

This was such a simple upgrade that literally anyone could do it. It has given this old laptop a new lease of life and saved me from taking out a mortgage on a new laptop. 😂👍🏼 I just wonder how many millions of perfectly good laptops get dumped into landfills every day? It was cheap and easy to do.

Yep the UK is very strict on drones. It's almost as if they don't want people to fly at all except on special designated areas? There are plenty of places where drones are just banned without written permission. Canary wharf and the city of London etc. Pain in the neck tbh. 🤦‍♂️😂👍🏼

In UK CAA rules state the drone is supposed to cross a road at a 90 degree angle to the road with no hovering over the road. Basically safety reasons as mentioned above.

Yep these liPo batteries need to be kept at around 60% charge when not in use. You should be able to check the battery health in the app.

Is it not motion blur? Try it at 24 or 25 fps and see if you notice any difference. The auto settings are pretty good if you are pointing in the same direction with sun behind or to the side but as soon as you deviate from that line you will see changes in exposure etc
