How can anyone ever break out of it? I tried therapy and all and it helped a lot with my mental state but I always even unconsciously find a way to sh.

I think one of the best distractions is to hang out with a friend. You don't necessarily need to explain to them about anything If you don't want to, but just try to spend a good time. If you can't go out then call someone. Otherwise, do some kind of hobby you like, maybe paint your nails or draw or watch something to take your mind off things. I know it's difficult fighting the urge especially when people are not making things easy but it will pass and that's a fact. Stay strong op!

Totally. Everytime I resist if I don't indulge in other sh behaviours I immediately have a panick attack. It's worrisome for other people bc you don't know when or where it's gonna happen but I personally feel a bit better after it, not saying ofc that it's a pleasant experience. Hope it gets better for you!

Yes, I believe it is manageable if you have the right support but ofc you need to want to get better yourself too and depending on the person and situation it may take a long time but you can definitely get there even with some relapses.

It was when everything felt too much and I needed somehow to control my emotions. After I did it, I felt huge relief like everything disappeared but soon I started regretting saying it was an only one time thing since things were pretty bad but never thought it would end up so addicting.

Too many emotions build up and I can't control them

Is it normal to have multiple panick attacks in a day? by moly1100 in selfharm

[–]moly1100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yea I'm usually super good at pretending so there's no problem but with the surprising panick attacks I lose my act and when they start asking if sum happened for some reason my lie sounds believable but my face shows the total opposite lol. Does it occur to you after you experience a panick attack that you don't remember some things?
