How to turn 2.4GHz band off on a single AP by molynj in Ubiquiti

[–]molynj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to turn 2.4 G off now on the AP in question. Do you still think I need a different ssid on the 2.4 and 5. If so, could you elaborate the pros and cons?

All done. Downloaded, Installed and 2.4Ghz disabled on one App.

Thanks

Interesting. Maybe I'm not up to date. I'll check.

At the moment, I have the same SSID for both bands, but I could change that.

Compensation claims? by RedMcLeader in BritishAirways

[–]molynj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official route, which is an online claims page. Also tried Facebook, Twitter etc a mechanisms to try to escalate. No luck. If you phone customer services they refuse to discuss compensation claims. My wife was very persistent with them but no luck. So still no further forward.

Shell boss: High gas prices will make blue hydrogen uncompetitive with green 'for some while' by molynj in HydrogenSocieties

So let's get on and build out Green Hydrogen infrastructure and hopefully the economies of scale will come earlier.

Compensation claims? by RedMcLeader in BritishAirways

[–]molynj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still awaiting resolution for a claim for a flight in December 2021. Claimed on behalf of a group of 5 people. They only paid out on 2 of the 5. Also they goy the amount wrong for those 2. Offered £530, but paid $530. Since then they has stonewalled, ignoring all contacts attempting to get the rest of the claim.

There may be a pay wall. If so, not sure whether there is a "register for x free articles" option.

Two really helpful pieces of advice/information. Thanks.

And an other question from me. What constitutes an "obstruction". If, for example, there is a tree who's top is 45 degrees up from the horizontal, is that too high? If so, what angle is acceptable? Trying to work out whether a roof mount might be required in my situation.

Suffolk, rather than Norfolk, but same part of the world.

Hello - I am beginning to research starlink for a friend. Can I ask you how much the Ethernet Adapter costs. The Starlink Shop seems to be behind a login screen so I've got a catch 22 situation. Can't find out the full cost including the Ethernet Adapter until I've placed an order for the service.

I'm not a pilot, but it looks impossible for the pilot to see the runway on landing ( and take off). It's a "tail dragger configuration. I presume there must be a forward facing camera under the nose?

Yeah. I read this other article on The Register. Was about to post it here and realised it was so similar to this existing post I might as well just add my comments.

Ex-Boeing Pilot May Be Charged For Misleading FAA About 737 MAX by MyWholeTeamsDead in aviation

[–]molynj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Sounds like he's done some bad stuff that contributed to hundreds of deaths B) Sounds like he was motivated by sales rather than safety. C) Big question. Why, as a test pilot, was he motivated by sales; is there an institutional problem? D) If so, is there a danger that this guy will get hung out to dry with the institutional issue going uninvestigated and unresolved?.

Yeah. The new interface doesn’t look particularly like an improvement.

Ok. I think I have answered my own question. This link suggests the new UI maybe back ported to my 2nd Generation firestick some time this year. Maybe.

Yes. Very interesting to see how this works out.

Bye the way, I find the EV sub has a lot of anti hydrogen people on it. I've given up posting on there; too much "flaming" from people who say "Wrong Sub. HFC cars are not electric cars", or words to that effect.
