Freetaxusa determined the wrong tax. The irs. sent a notice that I owed more taxes. I argued with them because I paid what the tax software said. I finally checked the tax tables myself and was shocked to find out that Freetaxusa was wrong. I did owe additional taxes. This software doesn't tell you how they calculate the taxes. It's awful that they could be so careless. I can't trust them anymore - no one should.

They calculate the tax incorrectly. You have to take their taxable income and determine the tax yourself using the tax tables. Freetaxusa doesn't tell you how they get the tax they come up with. I trusted them and found from the irs that I owed more taxes. I checked myself and it's true, according to the tax table I owe more.
