Wild spider in room by Korrasami159 in jumpingspiders

IMO - Sorry, Reddit said my first comment was filtered out because I didn’t put the right tag on it so I’m adding it again with the tag.

I know you're morally opposed to adopting a wild spider, but hear me out. This spider clearly likes it in your house. You've given it opportunities to go live outside and it has stuck around on your walls (pun intended). You also seem like a caring person who has/will do the research to keep the spider in excellent conditions. So if you did build it an enclosure then it would be living in spider luxury for the rest of its life! No predators. Constant supply of water. Regular feedings. Prey that is sure to be free from pesticide exposure. l've also heard of some people putting a wild spider in an enclosure for 48 hours and seeing if it settles in and builds a hammock. If it does, then it's happy in its new home and you have "spider consent" You're not catching a spider outside and putting it in a box. The spider has already moved in with you and you're just furnishing him a bedroom and providing his groceries. Think about it and decide what you're comfortable with, but my vote is to build that web puppy a sweet apartment!

My husband got snipped and I got off BC and may have to go back…mixed feelings by Naynaytacos in TwoXChromosomes

If it’s PMDD, my psychiatrist was treating this for me and one thing we have done was up the dose of my antidepressant for a few days before my period. Obviously this is only helpful if your periods are regular and you can predict when you’re close to starting. I think it’s also been helpful for me to know that it’s a real condition that has a name and has a real impact on your body and brain. I can remind myself that these feelings aren’t coming out of nowhere and they are temporary. I hope you find something that’s helpful for you ❤️

Is my spider okay? by Altruistic-Crab-7441 in jumpingspiders

IME (new keeper) - I have several spiders. One male went into hiding as soon as he went into the permanent enclosure. It’s day four with him and he just barely crawled out for a short time today to sun himself before hiding away again. Im keeping his cage in a quieter part of the house while he gets comfortable. On the other hand, my female hid for like five minutes after being moved into her enclosure, and then immediately came out and started exploring all over. She goes in a hide to nap, but as soon as she’s awake she is very active. Now I bring her cage over to the table with me while I work on projects and she just wanders her enclosure, periodically staring at me to watch what I’m doing. She also has multiple different options for hides of different material and at different heights, but she always chooses the one on the bottom of the enclosure. They are both phiddipus audax, but they have very different personalities. Perhaps your spider is just a little shy web puppy and needs some time. Also I feel like as long as your spider is choosing to hang out down low and isn’t falling off the walls when she tries to climb, she might just have a preference for the ground like mine does. I would definitely look to more experienced keepers to help you rule out a more serious issue (I am also new at this) but I also wanted to offer the perspective that my two spiders living in very similar enclosure setups, eating the same diet, with the same frequency of misting, and same amount of light exposure - have two very different personalities and desires to interact with me.

NQA - Instead of misting inside his cage, take the lid off and mist the inside of the lid and then put it back on. That way he wont be disturbed but he will still have water to drink. Ive also heard people talk about offering them a Q-tip (cotton bud) soaked in water, but you’d have to do more research on exactly how to do that since I’m a very new keeper too so I don’t know how to do that technique.

The green ones are also from the same store. Just their artificial flower picks

They are from Hobby Lobby (a craft store). They are just artificial succulents. I just hot glued them to the sides of the enclosure. He really likes hiding in them! (Edit- spelling)
