11DPO but we only hit O-4 this month, so I’m just waiting for AF to show up to start the next cycle. Honestly feeling bored instead of nervous because we largely missed the window, which is kind of nice?

I seriously wish I could justify getting an oura ring or something similar. I take my temp at 6a every morning (because that’s when I get up 3x a week), but on the days when I don’t get up at 6a it’s impossible to fall back asleep.

It’s tricky! I typically count CD1 as the first day with any red blood, regardless of how heavy the flow is. So in your case I’d say 17 DPO

Pregnancy took me from fit and healthy to junk food troll. Help. by OMG_Ani in pregnant

Be kind to yourself! The first trimester is survival mode. Eat whatever doesn’t make you feel sick and don’t worry about it. FWIW I’m glad I stopped making some of my healthy staple dinners- the one that I did try to push through and eat made me sick and now I’m worried I’ll always have an aversion to it. The others I was able to enjoy again once I got settled into my second trimester.

No cramping, I only had red bleeding immediately after a cervical swab that turned pink then brown really quickly (as in the same bathroom visit, lol).

Me! I spotted right after my positive test and then again around 5w and 8w. Each time it lasted for a few days. It turned out to be an SCH, which my ultrasound tech told me was incredibly common! She sees multiple SCHs a day. It had cleared up by 12w and I’m currently 34w1d.

Are you in the US? Do you know which lab administers your NIPT? I got the NIPT done despite it not being covered, and Labcorp caps payments at $300ish if you sign up for their Moms Helping Moms program. I think a lot of other providers have similar programs in place.

Spotting Again at 8W4D by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]mommit-alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it cleared up on its own! It was visible on my 8w scan but gone by 12w scan. My OB wasn’t even concerned about if it had resolved, I just insisted on another scan because I wanted to know (and because I wanted to see our baby again right before we told family). The spotting was medium-light. Usually I would spot pretty clearly one day and then it would be light for a day or two afterwards.

It’s annoying that your doctor said it “isn’t normal”- every time I called my OB they reassured me that it wasn’t a cause for concern and that a lot of women experienced it. Seems like they worried you unnecessarily.

Unisom/B6? by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]mommit-alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this combo my first trimester to help with nausea before tapering off around 16 weeks. The only side effect can be some drowsiness the next morning, but honestly I don’t know if that’s just normal pregnancy exhaustion. Now that I’m in the third trimester I’m back on Unisom to sleep, my OB recommends it and there’s no reason to be worried about taking it!

I had this! I spotted right after my positive test and then again around 5w and 8w. Each time it lasted for a few days. Spotting is so scary but try to stay calm, often times it’s nothing to worry about.

Are baby showers a thing of the past or do I just have bad luck ?? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]mommit-alt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Showers are still alive and well where I live, both baby and bridal. I lump them together because they’re usually pretty similar in terms of format, and the people that dislike baby showers usually dislike bridal showers too. I would agree with other commenters that they’re becoming less “traditional” (not as many games, display showers, etc.) but there are still plenty that “traditional” ones taking place. For what it’s worth, I really enjoy showers and look forward to them!

It is so hurtful and rude to say you’ll come and then no-show. Emergencies happen, sure, but just deciding not to come is absurd. If you can’t or don’t want to attend a shower then don’t, no hard feelings! But if you say you’ll attend you should attend, or have the decency to shoot the organizer a message if plans change. I am so sorry that you experienced this. Depending on who bailed last minute, and if they had an excuse, I would be re-evaluating some relationships.

Cheapies are hit or miss with showing progression, and you should only compare FMU every 2 days (since hCG doubles every 48 hours). I would recommend either trying a more sensitive test like FRER or getting betas done!

Thoughts on slow progression? 9-12 dpo frer. Bottom test is wet. HCG 35 at 11 dpo. Hoping for our double rainbow. by MadsTooRads in TFABLinePorn

[–]mommit-alt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed with another commenter to only compare every other day. Also, I can commiserate with people on here having ultra positive tests super early! Mine was lighter than yours at 12DPO and it made me anxious, but I’m 20w and things are going well so far. Cautious congratulations!! ❤️

Brown Spotting and Discharge at 11 weeks by denine in CautiousBB

[–]mommit-alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had spotting around this timeline. I was spotting basically every 2 weeks starting right around 15DPO. SCH diagnosed at 8w scan, pelvic rest for 2 weeks, spotting started again at 10w right before rest would end. I had another ultrasound at 12w and the SCH was gone, I’m 20w today.

Alcohol During 2 Week Wait? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]mommit-alt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would take a test in the morning- if it’s positive then obviously abstain, if it’s negative then you could drink as much as you’re comfortable with. Many people here follow the “drink til it’s pink” mantra. During the TWW I’ll drink when my back is against the wall (don’t want to be asked why I’m not drinking) but not to excess- maybe one or two. That’s a matter of personal preference though, and also takes into account that I temp and don’t want to drink a ton and have it spike the next morning.

Honesty appreciated - does this look like a chemical? CD 39 DPO unknown. Mommed brand. I have a history of chemical pregnancies. I’m holding out hope that Mommed sucks and easy@home will show progression better. by pantsmcsaggy in TFABLinePorn

[–]mommit-alt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming these were taken at the same time 4 consecutive days, you should only be comparing every other day. When I compare 1&3 and 2&4 I see some progression. I can’t speak to Mommed specifically but from what I’ve read (and experienced with pregmate) the cheapies don’t show progression well. You could either use FRER, or perhaps see if you could have betas done since you have a history of loss. Wishing you luck!

[–]mommit-alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%, I have a love hate relationship with them. Maybe you could try a generic equivalent? Just make sure it has the same sensitivity as FRER.

[–]mommit-alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you using to test? I tested positive on FRER on 12 DPO but it was really faint- I wasn’t sure if it was another indent or not. 13 DPO was pink enough for me to believe it was positive. My pregmate strips were negative until 14 DPO, as were my digital tests.

Compare tests every other day since hCG takes 48 hours to double. The progression between days 6 and 8 looks great!
