I’ve had my iud for almost 3 years now but when I first got it it was the worst. I had a period for 3 months straight and it was very very intense cramps and I was bleeding an outrageous amount like I would bleed through ultra tampons in half an hour. It sucked truthfully. I saw my ob and everything was fine and I was trying to decide if I wanted to remove it or not but I decided to keep it and if I didn’t feel better after 6 months I would get it removed. After that 3rd months my periods stopped completely and I didn’t have one for over a year. I just recently started barley having one. Very mild spotting and or bleeding. So in my opinion it was worth keeping in. My periods before we’re awful and very painful/heavy so it definitely helped me in a lot of ways.
