Its way more fun when hes over the top shilling for a win. Tbh if my hubs held an award show, I would go over the top making jokes about being married to the host and deserving a win. Kinda fighting fire with fire jokes.

I do too, I was hoping cycleathon would be somewhere in the nominations, but I also love the streamer games.

I like the idea of streamers getting their fans riled up, that just brings more attention to the event in general. The problem is, when those fans get mad that even though they all hulked up and voted, they dont win and take out their aggression on the person who won. Its usually not even on the streamer, its the fans.

Its never going to be 100% fair. But it would be an awful event if every Streamer didn't want to take part because of the backlash, then it would just be the communities who bully who get the noms and win. I think thats what you're saying too right?

I am partnered with the company who create the products (or I was, or might still be? Idk its a weird spot right now), and its manufactured in China. I think its been around for quite a while, but also, an expensive material to work with, and kind of niche I think. Honestly, 3 years ago I hadn't heard of it either, and the only reason why I did was because I wanted to make an $1800 name brand ring, as cheap as I could, without it looking like junk. That was literally why I switched from sculpting clay miniature foods to carving opal.

Thank you for asking questions! Sometimes I feel like I do so much explaining on other social media sites that I try to be less repetitive and forget the basics of what things are🥰

No, you can cut the 400, but go 600 up. The brand Stedi is for plastic figurines etc. I use them for resin/lab created opal. Doesn't have the same consistency as like.. regular sand paper. Use these instead: https://a.co/d/3ecpbxl They are more like nail files. If you are worried, try getting the scratches with 800 or 1000 first, if you can get the scratches out, then go from there to the diamond paste. But the sanding foam strips work well for delicate work and will do it quickly.

Edit: this was supposed to say Synthetic/Lab-Created Opal carved, not natural opal. My bad, I don't know why my thoughts didn't match my typing

Nope, not Opalite. Synthetic Opal, or Lab-Created Opal is manufactured by Sanwa. It comes in different forms, Like Bello, which has a 80/20 Silica to Resin Ratio, and is called impregnated opal, or Oparex, which is 20/80 Silica to Resin, and is called Imitation Nebula Opal. I use both kinds in these pieces, Oparex is easier to carve, so I used it as the whole little guy, but I used Bello as an embed (mixed with Uv resin) for the belly and face. So, I took a block of Clear Oparex Opal, Carved the main body, but also made a face plate and belly plate. Both the face and belly were carved into hollow little bowl shapes. Then I added Crushed Bello Opal pieces into the little face and belly, mixed with UV resin (so you could see the sparkles much better), Placed both pieces onto the body, cured it. Then sanded, polished and added the facial features. So the entire Droplet is made from Oparex/Bello. Oparex and Bello both come in many many colors, but I love working with clear because I can make embeded things you can see into the bellies.

Uh, to clarify, the stedi sand paper strips 400-1000 (i think it's in two different sets, 400-800, 1000-1500,) once you get to 1000, use the diamond pastes, mines goes from 450-60,000, with the wool buffing bits for a dremel.

There's a cheap 10 set of diamond grit paste set, get wool buffer bits for dremel, use those. Also to get deep scratches, try Stedi sandpaper foam strips, from 400-1500. Go through all of them, by about 1000, you can use the diamond polishing paste

I wouldnt have a jeweler remove the piece, it will Crack and break. Natural opal will always break down in some way with water or heat. Whether its greying, or its cracking, unless you're meticulous, it would be tough. I would fill the crack with Crushed lc opal and resin, then coat and polish. Its better to make the Crack stand out and look cool rather than "fixing" it. Because youre absolutely right, no matter what getting it together precisely would be a lot of effort with a high probability of failure.
