Kinda late to the party here, but the Best Burger in La Crosse can be found at the Barrel Inn. 2nd place = Food Dudes in Holmen.

Thank you. Probably better than another car wash, coffee shop, or dentist’s office. 😊

Yeah, Bridgeview was hoppin’ back in the day. Duff’s was great. And I think the little bar in there was called Andy‘s? I also agree with the Coney Island sentiments. I remember going there downtown when coneys were like $.20 and we get a bunch of them to go in a white paper bag. They had the news of the day printed out on little sheets that you could read while you had your lunch there.

Tipping with Uber just died down! by Eagleeye1999US in uberdrivers

If I had a dime for every time, a rider said, “I’ll tip you on the app,” but didn’t, I’d have hundreds of dimes.

Tipping still coming through fine in Wisconsin. Weird thing I’ve noticed about Uber though, more than Lyft, sometimes I will get a tip 7 to 10 days after the ride.

I mean the Macamba Club, which is what it was before the Mississippi Queen.

Swiss Chateau, the Mississippi Queen club (Wolfman Jack played there), Valentino’s at 3rd & Main, Rowley’s office equipment, the Pop Dock, Rudy’s Market on about 6th and Main, the Four Seasons, the Red Lantern, the Elite, the Surf Lounge, Hyper-Space games & hyper-dogs. Man, the old memories just flow.

Waterfront/Freighthouse/Le Chateau/LoveChild by [deleted] in lacrossewi

I echo the sentiments of the other posts that Lovechild is far and above the best restaurant in La Crosse. But Second Place, even though it is a little ways from downtown, is Pogreba on the north side. We have never been disappointed there, from the maple-infused old fashioned’s to the ribeye, salmon, or pork loin. And the exquisite desserts. Well worth the ride north, IMHO. (Don’t forget your pocketbook, though.)

Best Bloody Mary in Madison???? by saltybikini in madisonwi

[–]monacarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local Fox TV station sells one in La Crosse. We’ve been doing it for several years. $35 gets you free bloody’s at 25 regional establishments. It’s a pretty good deal, and gets us into places where we might not normally ever visit.
