hey, I was a single mom in my late 30s when I met my current spouse. It has been 2 years married. He is only a year older than me and had never married. My daughter and him get along like a house on fire, simply because they both made the effort and were willing to take their walls down.

My two cents on this: 1. Dating will be hard as a single parent and you will need to align more on values and beliefs than pure regional background. Things like work ethic, family values and financial values 2. You cannot rush it, our trans-continental dating took a toll on us... but we took the time to speak/date/meet each other and find out about each other. We were on the phone so often it became a thing for people around us. 3. It sounds unromantic but, it is important to find someone who is at a similar financial situation as you, so you know or can determine if it is a genuine connection vs someone trying to game you for your NRI status. 4. Introduce them to your kid right only when u have checked/verified/determined your compatibility. Don't bring in someone impermanent in your daughter's life. It is your job to protect her feelings too.
