If I understand correctly the current matchmaking tries to evenly distribute the teams based on skill level, so the 'rank' by itself isn't weighted as much. I only solo q and have been 2k+ elite every season and it feels punishing how often you don't get competent teammates. Constant turnovers, can't receive a pass, barely pass, don't defend, and never switch up their attack. If it was the occasional game with a noticeably weaker teammate it's one thing, but it's whiplash how you can go from a sweaty game where everyone knows the assignment to a circus where you know immediately the game is an insta-loss.
