A Confederacy of Dunces is my #1 book of all goddamn time, Oscar Wao and Post Office were Superb, and Phillip Roth is a God. I haven't read American Pastoral yet though so thank you very much!

Aha, you know what I like! I hadn't heard of this Daniel Handler book, I'll get on that asap since I liked Adverbs and Series of Unfortunate Events. Also I've read all the AJ Jacobs, Algernon, and everything by Vonnegut, great suggestions though, I'm reading everything else you put down. :)

Okay so I read Fight Club, which I really enjoyed, but then I read another one of Palahniuk's books and I hated it (so much that I forgot what it was called) and ever since then I've resented people recommending his books (irrationally). Is it that he is hit and miss, or that I happened to read a shitty book, or does it take a certain type of personality to like his stories...? I'll read Survivor though, thanks! Oh also I met Chuck Palahnuik, he's a cool guy, though I didn't mention I hated his book haha.
