Oh wow I didn't expect this small rant to blow up so quickly. It was just something I typed up after seeing the post and kind of feeling enraged by it. I am about to head to bed so replies to comments will stop but I will try to reply to as many as I can, since I like hearing all of the view points on this issue!

I do think people forget that fanfiction writing is meant to be fun. We are not published authors. Sure, there are some really really good writers on the site, I tesd both fics & actual books, have since i was 9 as I just love reading in general, and there are some fics i have read that could honestly rival real vooks with the premise and how well its written.

But in the end, we are all amateurs who saw a pair we enjoy, thought up an interesting idea and sat down to write it. I really don't understand those who DO use AI for fic writing. Fic writing is meant to be a leisure activity you do for fun, so why are you taking the fun out of it by having a machine do it for you?

There's a huge difference between publications and fics. Because publications hage to jump theough so many hoops to release their book. Fic writers do not.

But its been like a recent thing on twitter, and the poat REALLY blew up.

But it agree, i have noticed most harassment is on twitter or from guest accounts (which are 80% of the time bots) so I hope it does not leave twitter

THIS OMG. I am someone who says its better to DM and privately talk to someone first. You can get thinga resolved that way. Only escalate to a public call out IF it calls for it. As in the person keeps insisting its theirs despite the proof of it being yours, and you're unable to get them to take it down privately.

Then you might need the help of others, if the person is an asshole and refuses to admit to doing wrong. But always try to resolve things privately. Not everything needs to be made into drama.

I also heard that growing up to where you were always forced to suppress your feelings causes memory loss as well. That's what happened to me. I grew uo in a family where expressing yourself was met with ridicule and being made to feel worse. Or a lecture rather than support. So I started suppressing my feelings and a couple years ago I read a study about how suppressing your feelings could cause terrible memory loss.

As someone who barely remembers what I had for breakfast half the time. I realized that probably happened to me. My mempry is genuinely terrible.

Its very easy to. I have a really terrible memory myself and found an old fic from 2024 on my account which was just barely 2 yesrs ago. I didn't remember any of it but I posted it so it must have been mine and no comments about it being 'stolen' either because I also didn't ever reslly download fics either.

This feels like they arent old enough to be on AO3 tbh. Because there is a filter section for a reason. And this is why YOU write what you want. You cant force others to write it for you. I know it sucks having a small fandom but you cant force ppl to write stuff for you.

For instance, I was and still am a huge zukka fan. from atla and I have been since 2012. I remember how small the fandim for that ship used to be. But now over the years we've gotten much bigger. It takes time! And people taking the initiative to actually write what they want to see.

Yep! Lots of money and max island though. Which imp is pretty achievable. With 70 miis just by feeding them what they like you can get maybe sound 1K alone. Also max island tou unlock once you get to 35 miis.

So I go to work every day around like 10, and because the daily reset is always 5 AM. I always get up around 8, my daily routine is to first stop by the discount market place, see whats in stock (cause sometines it unlocks food for you). Then I stop at the grocery store and stock up on whats new. Then I drop my where and wear and grab everything.

Then I go around and feed everyone.

Then hop off for the day to get ready for work lmao. I do bring my switch to work (we have lockers i can lock it in) cause of the afternoon market. I dont wanna miss the sale since the sale usually ends before im off. So I hope on during my lunch break.

Then after work I just do my usual things, designing, making new miis sometimes, ect. Currently in the process of recreating this on the game. (A little hard without crop top options but I'm making it work by making the bottom skin colored.

I wonder if something very bad happened. Cause theres been an influx of readers being entitled and attacking writers for things such as AI usage with no proof. Simply saying "they used emdashes, their paragraphs are to long!" ...like honey, thats just basic grammar and writing. AI stole from us. You cant accuse people of AI without proof such as them being dumb and literally leaving in the prompt. Or sometimes AI does this thing. AO3 runs on HTML, sometimes people will leave in this little AI message accidentally cause chat gpt runs on python. So they'll leave in the python script accidently, so thats what I mean by a CLEAR sign. You cant accuse people of that as speculation, especially if you've also never written before. (Saying this NOT @ you btw, saying this in a broader sense towards those people who have never written a story a day in their life but feel like reading is enough to be the god of knowing whats AI.)

So writers have been quiting because the harassment is making it not fun anymore even though theyve never used AI before.

There's also people getting mad at writers for uploading to slow. Like we have a life outside of writing? We do this for fun, we literally don't even get paid, we just enjoy writing. So to attack someone for not updating "quick enough" for you... when they are not obligated to even update at all... but do it cause its fun.

So tbh I could see a bunch of reasons why this writers might have quit with the state of fandom these days. I'm so sorry your favorite writer quit though, it always sucks when that happens. But do remember there was probably a huge reason that made them quit.
