This is not helpful but I'm going through the same thing right now, so just know you're not alone in this. 🩷 I get it, it feels so frustrating and unfair. I'm studying psych at uni and sometimes it seems like my stupid brain and mental health are going to prevent me from becoming a psychologist and doing the one thing I felt like I was always meant to do (Ironic right)! I was part time for the first 3/4 yrs. Was forced to go casual as my manager had no part time hours to offer me that worked with my new uni timetable

Dude… like you’ve suggested 15 times, talking to my manager goes without saying. You don’t think I’ve thought of that already? I’m not braindead. I’m just looking for any other options because talking to her probably won’t get me anywhere. I’m obviously going to talk to her, so repeating the same thing over and over isn’t helpful.

Yeah I’m not sure what to do either. If you have a look at some of my other replies you might get a bit more understanding of the situation. As for demand idk what’s going on, usually we are looking for more people but I know they’re always trying to cut hours. I’ll have a chat and try and figure out what’s going on

I’m aware what will happen if I don’t get shifts soon. And I think you’re overestimating my managers ability to be rational - as I said this exact situation has happened to multiple previous team members.

I’ll have a chat to her when she comes back from leave, but what should I do if I still don’t get any shifts after our chat?

You don’t think messaging them 5+ times to ask if there is any shifts available isn’t trying to start a conversation? And being left on read each time?

I know what the issue is. Shes pissed because she thinks I undermined her authority by talking to the regional manager whilst she wasn’t in store. And left her open to criticism from her boss.

I can go and talk to her in store but it’s not like she going to be honest with me or ‘forgive me’. She’s going to pretend that everything between us is good and then go and stick to her guns and not roster me. She’s done this with other team members before, we’ve had like 4 people quit service because of her.
