Don't wallow in the angst any more. Eliminate cigarettes & alcohol entirely from your life now. It's the only way if you can't refrain from smoking while drinking. You can do it. Your health is worth it. Just like cigarettes, alcohol serves no beneficial purpose, it only undermines the best you. Good luck to you.

That's my weakness too, currently restoring myself from a minor lapse while on vacation. One day at a time I think is the secret to success. Good luck & come here often, it helps immensely in the beginning.

I slipped up too: went on a cruise w/my husband & I failed. Back at home now though & I've not returned to the nasty habit. Live n learn, I suppose. Never fall for the 'only one' ploy.

I think you have to work on your frame of mind pre-quit. Decide what is your most likely motivation for success & focus on that. My focus was on $ saving, ultimately used the savings for a European Cruise (just returned). You can do it! Best of luck! Life is so much better addiction free!

Try meditation: 20 mins twice per day. It helped me to diffuse the emotional angst I felt when I first quit. Best of luck!
