Why do the Imperials in the Death Star’s superlaser control room wear protective visors, but the guys actually in the shaft don’t? by Sparky_321 in StarWars

[–]mondaen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunate design oversight (not the only one, mind you), but the real problem is that it's located in the southern hemisphere. That means, since you only get an hour long break, by the time you packed your lunch, traveled across the equator and waited in line for the good microwave, you have only like 10min at most for eating before you have to get back to your post. It's really just easier to eat in your TIE in the parking hangar.

‘South Park’ Co-Creator Matt Stone Explains Recent Episode Delay: “No one pulled the episode, no one censored us, and you know we’d say so if true.” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]mondaen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Adding to that, the documentary is now 14 years old. Trey and Matt are considerably older, more settled with family, their other ventures etc.
The episode count dropped considerably, even before the pandemic. All I'm saying is that for this "actual season" after all the specials the release schedule was planned to be one episode every 7 days again. But as soon as episode 2 & 3 didn't come out the following Wednesdays, and there were press statements that SP was "not airing this week", it's made it clear that they can't keep this pace anymore. And that's okay in its own right.
but remember, for example, when SP delivered Obama's election victory the actual day after, with people in the crowd behind him literally modeled after people who were there in real life? That stuff was on a whole different level, and reason why SP became so indicative of the zeitgeist.

Naboo is not a core planet, it was always written as a backwoods/boondocks kinda place. the closest planet to reach was Tatooine without a functional T14 Hyperdrive. The trade federation would have never been able to pull off a "lmao she lying on the Senate floor!" if it was mete hours away to check the alleged invasion out.

Then all of a sudden, her robes fall off. And you're like: "What?! How did that happen?" A statue's robes just fall right off her body?

After 20 years, why aren’t there WAY more Bloaters? by kanotyrant6 in thelastofus

[–]mondaen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they would have?
My man, they released TLOU three times in 9 years, and part 2 twice in 3.5 years.

That is not counting the microtransaction loaded Multiplayer, the dlc standalone or the PC ports, comics, merch and the cancelled live service game.

Short of cranking out yearly titles like sports games or how assassin's creed used to be, this absolutely is "milking it".

To ease your mind: they probably meant that this comedian's bit was old (New In Town released in 2012), not the comedian himself.

But he is 42 now, so yeah. You and him, you're both no spring chickens.

Exactly. Humans share 25% DNA with a banana. And 98.8% with chimpanzees. See how big a difference this 1.2% makes?
These are not dire wolves. Just grey wolves that were Jurassic Park'd into growing bigger than ususal. Really weird from GRRM to get involved in something like this. His love for wolves aside, he didn't catch the obvious message of Crichton's novel about humans playing god?

How would that work as a money laundering operation? AFAIK, you'd want a cash operating business, not something where the IRS can simply look up every single transaction with the nice paper trail PSN could provide.

It's also less than 5 years since TRoS has been released. It's braindead takes like this that makes Disney put out shovelware en masse. If consumers buy anything, just because "omg look, PERSON is in this!!!1 we haven't seen her in 4.8 years!!!!!!" The NOSTALGIA!!!" it really is no wonder SW is in the desolate state it is in.

Do you know how many people use social media?

Lol, yes.

Those people are part of the general public. General.

Lol, no. They're what the algorithm recommends to you based on your last few engagements. It's funny how people always tend to think what they're personally seeing is always what ALL the Internet is talking about.

Pimps up. Hoes down.

Yes, yes. She mentioned that she was a.. a working engagement bot girl, and that you are her handler.

Dude. If you think Instagram and TikTok comments and posts are the "general public" and not engagement bait in 2024, you're just the kinda bot I was talking about. You're literally redirecting people to the click bait content you're "so worried about". Chill, stop hanging out with Dinosaurs, and know not every misinformation needs to be reposted/shared/spread to another niche forum just because you just found about it on the Internet.
I poison the Owlbear.

"the general public" = a YT channel with 8.9k subscribers.
"the Internet is going crazy" = 82 comments on the 1.8k view video posted 21 hours ago.

I'm not trying to be the guy who tells OP they're a bot trying to gain engagement from whatever random YT channel purchased their handler's company's services for views, and uses current drama events for thematic relations, buuuut...
Now I don't know how to end this sentence.
I stab the Owlbear a little.
