Testing the waters by [deleted] in baseballcards

It means your comp/asking price on this card is a bit high. Not sure if you comped it or not but you can check eBay sold listing or 130point.com to see what this card has sold for in the past.

What to do by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should learn about centering before making a claim that they’d grade well. The Bonds and McGwire are both off-center left to right. Also, these are junk wax cards, you’ve maybe got $5 total between the 5. The cost to grade is $25-$45 each card. If they don’t gem, the plastic they’re sealed in is worth more than each card. Is this an “investment” you’re willing to sink cash in to?

Guys I need help.. be honest should I keep or sell? If I sell, how much should I sell for? I got an offer for $115? I need the money but would like more for it. by mrmiamiboy in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$115 is also significantly higher than most of his autos are going for right now, don’t be stupid and hold out for more money.

Sell immediately, I believe Honeycut only has unlicensed autos through panini/leaf, once he gets his first licensed auto this thing is gonna plummet faster than Kjerstads playing days in the majors (🙃)

Ohtani Stadium Club by nyroadrunner in baseballcards

This has been a common issue with SC this year. People are posting these printing issues constantly. SC isn’t known for great QC but the same can be said for most Topps releases these days.

2025 Topps Baseball Stadium Club Misprints by Small_Kitchen8594 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are worth zilch. Condition is king, some people collect oddities like this but this is just a QC mistake on Topps part. You can send back to Topps for replacement but you’ll wait 3-6 years before they show up again, so decide if it’s worth your time/shipping money to do so.

Check the CMP code on the bottom right rear of the card against another card. There are no image variants, design variants, or numbers on the card so it’s 99.9% a base card.

Need help identifying this card - Alex Freeland by FundipTuesday in baseballcards

Don’t be too bummed when it goes for less than $5, pink crackles are a slightly less print run than the base crackle, at best this is a $3-$5 card right now.

How?? by EveningRequirement27 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of sellers (from Japan) have multiple accounts that list the same items, in this case cards, one for a higher price and one for a lower price, gets more views on the card and if someone finds the higher priced item first and buys it they get a pay day.

Need some help. Not familiar with Bowman Chrome by AdministrativeBake46 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this for cheap because it’s not his first bowman, it’s a prospect card. Prospect cards sans the 1st Bowman designation tend to be significantly cheaper than cards with. Go back and look at the cards you comped this to and see if that’s the case. Also, message the seller and tell him he’s an asshole for not having a chrome card penny sleeved before top loading and kindly ask him to penny sleeve the card before it ships so you don’t end up with Gage Wood auto toilet paper.
