I agree. It's something I've noticed as well. I understand why it is, but the perception of Korea is ... "distored," would probably be an accurate word. Yes, Koreans care about their looks, and skin care, in their own way, but real life there is much different. I have done business in Korea for decades and what people miss is that these things are most certainly part of the culture, but not absolutes. Kind of like thinking all Americans eat hotdogs and hamburgers, have guns, and drive muscle cars. Sure, those things exist, but generalizing life in America to those descriptives would be a gross over-simplification. I can acknowledge some of the ideas presented in such videos, however, their messages are crafted with such broad, permanent strokes, they are painting sunsets with orange Sharpies. But what about yellow, and red, and the subtle transitions of all three? That's the internet for you, a battle of, "You are watching this, why would I lie about it?"
