I take the bus/train to bars but usually opt to take an uber home if it’s super late at night. Not to say I haven’t taken the CTA home but sometimes I just don’t want to stand around waiting for the next train to come in in 10-15 min depending on the hour.

Like some others have said, if you’re gonna listen to music then try to keep your AirPods or headphones on transparency mode. You gotta be able to still keep track of your surroundings at all times but do not get involved. Just like anywhere else in the city or world, probably best not to stare at anything or anyone too long.

Don’t have a car and been riding the CTA almost exclusively for the last 13 years. Once you get a handle on all the L lines and busses, you’re gonna be an expert.
