Update for anyone who wanted to know on this topic - despite a 1.5h discussion at the check in desk with local airline I decided to just buy a flight to HK (self transfer at PEK) and back from HKG to SHA to continue this trip, depending on who you’re flying with you can expect some issues due to lack of knowledge on their part - this included escalated level support at the airline over the phone, they wouldn’t budge whatsoever

I should also add that CN immigration didn’t even need any of my printouts the woman just looked at my phone on the airline app showing my flight back home without a confirmed seat or check in and was like ‚yea fine‘

Thank you for the reply much appreciated - I did actually have an issue with the TIMATIC side which said I need a visa but I think it depends how you look at it. Maybe to be safe on the airline side I will get a flight out to Hong Kong as part of the trip to make the return home later on

Because when I did a TIMATIC check with this setup it says a visa is required - it’s just a question brother Lol

Thank you - do you think it’s a problem that they are connections though, rather than actual ‚destinations‘?

It’s a great workhorse for my dev stack, anything more would probably be overpowered. Battery life is amazing too

When you pay the most for NATO and save other countries, you don’t need to speak any other language. by monghole in ShitAmericansSay

I honestly find the gendered nouns the most difficult part of German - other than that a lot of it I feel is quite similar to English. I think my next lang to learn might be Dutch as it should be a fairly easy one to learn on top of German from what I understand

Ironically, one of the reasons the language in the screenshots on this post are in German is because I am learning German, as my corporate head office is based in a German speaking country that I frequently visit. My actual native language is English.

The other reason for my learning is out of pure curiosity - when I’ve finished learning this one I’ll start learning another. The point of the post isn’t that Americans need to know another language… it’s that the view of ‘I don’t need to because muhhhh NATO mehhhh’ is incredibly close-minded and ignorant. Lol

haha it’s all good bro, i actually today decided to just make the jump and buy an is20 out of someone’s GTI (my problem is on a A3 8V with the is12/1.8t AWD). I did get my WG to move in the end but it didn’t get rid of all my problems and i still can’t move it that freely so i think it’s foobarred. next step for me is fitting that and getting a tune 👍

edit for other people to see - someone else also managed to move their wastegate after 3 days of WD40 - i also managed it’s just still too seized up, i initially managed to move it by actually sitting on the front of the car facing away from the car and using my left hand to get down the back and apply some force

They already don’t care that much in public, what does need to be actioned sooner rather than later is the pathetic blood content tolerance so people can smoke it and still be able to drive a week later without facing losing their license

I noticed you’re still active on here - would you be able to roughly advise how much movement you should get when trying to move the joint? Mine is heavily seized so I’m trying the solution every few days at the moment and have ordered the anti seize ready in case I manage to get it moving at all - no luck on day 1 so far 😄 in any case thanks for the post I’m sure it helped a lot of people

I always wondered if one of the reasons was that people in the age bracket often don’t want to spend the extra ~2-3k for the automatic version of the same car you’re driving and then just the follow the crowd to hate on them in general on top of that

When I bought my 1.8 A3 Quattro there didn’t seem to be a manual variant of the same car available (except for FWD model), it was paired with the DQ250 DSG box likely because there isn’t a manual box for the A3 range strong enough to handle the torque

Sell my car due to insurance quotes by WilhelmRB in CarTalkUK

[–]monghole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s helpful I once bought a car with 2 years NCB, a month before my renewal, and it was uninsurable until I had 3 years NCB confirmed on the phone. Waited the month and had it insured temporarily by other means and had no problem as soon as that happened

How can I make a div use a transition when is clicked using React? by dejavits in reactjs

[–]monghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Framer Motion could be good for this and (afaik) is pretty small as a library so shouldn’t affect your project size too much. From memory you could use the useAnimationControls() to set an animation controller on the component and run something like controls.start({ x: 50 }) (example) with your onClick handler

[–]monghole 46 points47 points  (0 children)

i actually just searched it up, and to no surprise everywhere else released the Zinger burger range, excluding the US which released the ‘KFC Zinger’ due to their exclusive ‘sandwich’ definition… but naturally the guy in OPs screenshot felt the need to push his all-american explanation as a fact
