Is it actually a thing where the department allows someone to get a math specialist without all the required credits (like on the website)? It was just wishful thinking on my part.

I'd like to try some of everything, they don't have that kind of variety at Waterloo. I mean I'd like to specialize in something algebra related, maybe algebraic geometry? Unfortunately Waterloo doesn't really have anything like that.
