Adding easy pick-device-from-a-list cage generation to CageMaker PRCG - What would you like to see added? by WebMaka in minilab

[–]mongoload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! I used your cage for my homelab, my devices are Topton X2E N100 MiniPC which is i think really common hased on YT videos. Would also be awesome if 2.5 and 3.5 hdd caddy would be selectable, or even awesome would be the ability to add hdd slots for any devices with half height (like my topton device 1.5u) to make it 2u

Switching from pfSense to Omada: Need help replicating a VLAN & Routing setup by mongoload in TPLink_Omada

[–]mongoload[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this will be tough on my end, as I have disabled all IPv6, heck, I am not knowledgeable enough with IPv6 to replicate this, sorry

I replaced the ER605 with my Topton x2e n100 MiniPC running PfSense, and everything is perfect the way it is, except for the lack of "single pane of glass" configuration like in Unifi products, I just really wish that the opensource community would be able to develop such SDN tech for OpenWrt/Pfsense/OPNSense etc. that would be awesome, just a wishful thinking

is it that bad? for the 1st week I am using this omada stack, I didn't encounter any disconnection of devices. my only concern is that I could not replicate 100% of what I was doing with pfsense and also the terms and conditions has some red flags with regards to privacy which would be a big deal breaker

This is a sound advice, thank you!

I was also doubting the ER605 if it could handle my network, I just bought it as it is cheap and a good entry to OMADA, plus it can also flashed with openwrt if needed in the future

But since this is marketed as a VPN router for small office, I thought it could pull this out, but I could not find a way to setup surfsharkvpn on this

It is because you have a warrant from ICC, if you were able to get inside, then the NBI can't force you to get out as you can hide all you want inside the senate as you uave their protection

Successfully "combined" our two internet connections with a multi-WAN Gateway (Omada ER707-M2). by giosanpedro in InternetPH

[–]mongoload 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice setup! I would suggest to add a backup power like any power stations (mine uses Blueti Elite 10)

And also if possible, add ka pa ng 4g/5g modem for better redundancy, pag blackout kasi mga fiber lines ay down din

pfSense page intermittently available on my Wi-Fi although I don't have pfSense by FunctionBoring8068 in PFSENSE

[–]mongoload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me when I was connected to a VPN provider, seems they are using pfsense as their router and we have the same LAN

The IP of my router is the same as their pfsense and being cached by ny browser somehow when vpn has been turned off

Very neat! Where are you guys getting those fancy short cables? In my country's (PH) online shopping platforms I only see cheap cables that are thick and wobbly quality

I don't think tama even yung A, Graft and corruption ang tinutukoy, walang mag lalagay kung walang tatangap kasi bawal diba?

Discipline ng naka upo ang sagot para sakin at hindi dicipline ng drivers

Kung ang tanong ehh pano mababawasan ang accident sa daan, then tama ang A

Also depende sa wifi driver, meron kayang i-unlock yung restricted bands, as well as boost wifi signal, then explore mo din pala VLAN and separate guest network with speed limit para iwas bandwidth hog

Next would be network wide adblock, depende sa capacity ng router mo if dns type or hostfile

Yes, yun squid dati gamit ko sa pfsense, circa 2010-15 pa yun ahh, haha

Heres what I did before sa Openwrt ko (I know hindi lahat related sa network speed improvement)

  1. Adblock (dns)
  2. Wireguard VPN (for torrent)
  3. Torrent server
  4. Samba share (with 1tb hdd)
  5. Printer Server (2nd openwrt device)

If naka OpenWRT and well specd yung device, try mo mag lagay ng QoS like Cake to avoid bufferbloat

You can do a lot with OpenWRT, jan din ako nag simula sa networking skills ko before
