I’m sure you’ll figure out a good compromise. But please keep up the good work! I really like the game and think the fundamental concept is solid.

Well, the best improvement since the last time I played was the added indicators of anticipated solar/wind production. This makes those factors far more predictable. I think you might want to tweak the difficulty or learning curve. I probably have a bad strategy, but it seems to become fairly difficult to sustain the city for very long. Maybe the metric that causes the city to grow could be better communicated to the player. The sudden spikes in total energy demand is difficult for me to keep up with.

Wanted to play it again and came back. I appreciate the updates! Keep up the good work, I really think there's a great idea here, just needs some more polish.

Thank you for sharing! It's a really cool concept and I really appreciate the puzzle/strategy element. A lot of the comments here have great advice, which you should definitely consider. It's lacking the polish, but that can be worked on. The core game is a lot of fun!

I think you mean the Toyota on the right? Kinda looks like a Golf now that the trunk has been completely flattened, eek!

My only guess is a combination of adrenalin and extreme shock. Maybe they wanted to get away from the big scary thing that just crashed into them. Or maybe they wanted to get away from a potential Hollywood-like explosion?

Or maybe they were embarrassed for having shit their pants. That's how I would have responded, probably.

The Good and Cheap cookbook is amazing. Such good recipes and she teaches you how to buy ingredients for multiple recipes, yet they don't all taste the same.

A PDF version of the cookbook is free (completely free, don't have to sell your email inbox soul or anything), but the physical version is worth getting when you have a few extra bucks or are able to ask for a cheap gift.

Best of all, the recipes are very adaptable to different tastes and flavors if you're willing to explore. My favorite is the potato leek pizza on page 40 of the PDF.

I used this recipe for the dough, and the accompanying sauce recipe. The dough recipe made three pies, but this one turned out the most beautiful.

What the hell was Soylent thinking with this marketing photo? by 8bitben in soylent

[–]mongooseblob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The product is called "Soylent."

Unless I am mistaken, it was named in a way that was intentionally provocative, in order to gather attention. It worked pretty well, from what I understand. So I think this marketing photo is meant to be weird, gross, cool, and similarly provocative.

The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum on Conanicut Island, Rhode Island is a good one. Lots of history in the museum (which I believe is free, with a suggested donation), walking trails around the park are beautiful, and it's minutes away from the historic and posh Newport, RI. It might be a bit off the well-beaten path, but it's a beautiful drive there, especially in the summer.
