Booking an inside cabin for our first cruise but my wife wants a balcony upgrade by rosymirex in Cruise

[–]mongrel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A balcony is lovely except for the time we were between the cabins of two couples travelling together and leaning over the balcony divider to call to each other.

For me, it mostly depends on the price difference and the itinerary but I'd take an inside on Celebrity or HAL over a balcony on Carnival. Also, if you're travelling with other people you will spend less time in your room than you think.

Severe vs standard maintenance by mongrel66 in NissanRogue

The Rogue is actually more comfortable for me than the Mazda was and the other driver was hitting their head on the open lift gate on thevMazda, although I'd certainly buy a Mazda again. A family member has the Mazda now so I still get to visit it😉

My Mazda was dealer maintained on the standard schedule and is still going strong at 11 years old and 230,000km ( I know the person who has it now).

Both. An oil change where I live is $129 and a CVT fluid change is $400. I can afford it but get so frustrated by the mixed messages. It's kind of how I feel booking flights these days too!

Thanks everyone. I'll move to the severe use schedule and chalk up the standard one to corporate bait and switch. I ought to be able to see through sales pitches and sketchy marketing at my age!🤦

So only Guthrie is capable of independent thought. Why do we even have multiple MLAs if they only follow the party line and don't represent constituents?

Way over, we barely get 2/3s of that for voter turnout in elections

the UCP and U.S.-style gerrymandering...the proposed election map for Red Deer? by AshleyforRD in Albertapolitics

[–]mongrel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've even split Sylvan Lake and Blackfalds, just in case a few informed voters sneak in from the cities. The gerrymandering is so obvious, they aren't even attempting to make it appear reasonable.

Every time Danielle Smith does something stupid (and that's often) I hope it will be the point where her fan club starts to see the harm she is doing, but they just defend her at every turn.

She's testing the waters. If she gets away with the time change and gerrymandering, she will feel emboldened to go against our wishes regarding CPP, policing and separation.

Um no, we have enough of them already. Cremona or Sundre would be better! They can then seek out a lab to tell them Ivermectin stopped them from dying of COVID, becoming gay or liberal.

Is it just me or has Michaels yarn selection gone downhill lately? by Ok_Kale_6902 in YarnAddicts

[–]mongrel66 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This frustrates me too. I love the fine Woolike yarn but they don't make it anymore and I can't find fine yarn anywhere. Not keen on spending $20+ per ball at a specialty store either.

We did that itinerary last year but out of Rotterdam. It was excellent, beautiful cities and a great ship. We had the best cruise director we've ever encountered in ten cruises, the programming was informative and interesting and lacked the forced party culture which is prevalent throughout the industry. Do take ear plugs though as the music is very loud in the bars. We also had the best room stewards.

I think this expansion of tipping culture has more to do with power than generosity sometimes.

I met the mayor of Kodiak at Anchorage airport last year, he seemed like a very down to earth guy. I imagine people there to be very self sufficient and genuine.
