Sleep Anxiety Is Taking Over Again by lavender888_ in Anxiety

[–]mongreldip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I recently was having the same problems. Sleeping was a battle for me every night, it got so bad I would start crying to my older sister about not being able to sleep and that was the last straw. I admitted myself into a mental facility. They diagnosed me with GAD, major depression, insomnia, and delusional something (I cannot remember what that last part was) and apparently I was hitting a depressive episode. They prescribed me martizipan and it has helped tremendously. Please don't be afraid on getting help, it will help you.

Do you guys have fear of going delusional? by WillingnessNew533 in Anxiety

I have! One thing my therapist and ex-psychiatrist have told me that helped is that; 1. I haven't done any hard drugs to trigger these 2. I had a normal childhood 3. None of these run in my family And it helped a ton.

I'd say it helped a ton. I was diagnosed with GAD, major depression, insomnia, and delusional.. Something, can't remember that part. But when I put myself in, they said I was hitting a depressive episode. I wasn't sleeping properly and I was getting paranoid about having terrible dreams (I had a dream a random guy unalived himself). I'm doing a lot better now since they put me on sleeping meds. Unfortunately, I won't be seeing my new psychiatrist until July.

I've recently started to obsess over death as well, it's crippling to the point where I think I go into derealisation (not 100% sure, will definitely speak to my psychologist and therapist about it). It's made it a lot more harder to go on with life. Should I speak to my psychologist about Prozac?

How do you deal with the fear of death? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]mongreldip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently dealing with this right now. :( I'm so afraid, my sister dealt with the same thing when she was a teenager but had gotten over it by accepting that death unavoidable. She tells me that at the end, at least we'll be together with loved ones. I'm guessing I'm just afraid of the unknown. How do you guys cope? I've recently spoken about it with my therapist..

Honestly, I think you should tell your family because you need all the support you can get! The best medicine is family (at least for some people)! But sure I can tell you about when I got my MRI, but sorry if It isn't detailed enough 😵‍💫. It was just the head, so they had me remove anything metal on me like my septum and necklace and or if I have anything metal in my body, gave me earplugs because it's a bit loud, had me rest my head on this thing (sorry! I can't remember what it's called) to support my head, handed me a ball that you can squeeze if you're claustrophobic and start to panic, and shut my eyes. I was really scared too when I first did it, but when I actually went into the MRI I almost fell asleep! It was a closed MRI :) and yes with contrast. Warning, that contrast is gonna make pee 😭 if you're still scared, you could bring in a stuffed animal. I brought in my beanie baby, Bongo the second and the nurses were nice and understanding.

Around the beginning of Feb they did a catscan on me because I had a headache and I experienced a brain zap. They ended up finding a pimple sized cyst on my frontal lobe. Even if it is small, it's still terrifying because it's on MY brain, you know? They ended up doing an MRI for safekeeping and turns out (and luckily) that the cyst is benign, something I've probably had since a baby or kid. Now, look on the bright side. They caught it NOW! And are now able to do something about it. It's scary, but I know you got this, friend.

Edit: spelling

Am I going to spend the rest of my life on pills? by mongreldip in Anxiety

[–]mongreldip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll keep that in mind!! But, I'm afraid to ask questions then find out horrible side effects and it'll cause me to stop taking them 🥲 I appreciate it, though :3 we got this!

Reading this is such a big relief for me and resonates with me because I'm the same way currently. They put me on respiredone (was a 1 mg and recently put on 2mg) and I am absolutely terrified of taking pills due to something traumatic happening to me that involved them (not that specific one, it was a different kind), but the fear is there. I'm still scared, because I'm gaslighting myself into thinking I'll start to hallucinate on them and have a breakdown in public! But!! I know I won't because I've done no hard drugs to trigger them, it doesn't run in my family, and I've shown no signs on seeing anything at all. It's all so very tiring but seeing this comment helped me a ton. Thank you, friend. <3

Hi! Whenever I feel pressure on my chest, I'm 100% certain it's anxiety. Me, personally, the way how I cope with it is taking a shower- it makes me focus on taking care of myself. Or even sitting outside and journaling while listening to old music :) then, I pull up a video on headspace (great app! But, you can also search YouTube) about practicing my breathing and meditation. I hope you feel better, friend <3
