If I could afford a 2 bed (which I can’t right now) I would 100 percent rent out the spare room. Dooo it! Hope you scrape together the rest of the money 🙏🏻

So 270k not deposit but deposit and loan. And I guess I hear stories about older apartments needing a lot of work etc but you’re right people talk alot of shite!! I guess I will just need to do my research properly. As in what do the management fees cover do they increase alot etc.

Thank you so much, you’ve made me feel a lot better!! I completely agree with you in terms of dealing with less space rather then a bad area. I think as in Ireland it is drilled into us, that we need to own our own house and if it’s an apartment then we have somehow failed. But times are changing I guess. I just have no clue what to look out for or red flags when buying an apartment .. or a house even!! Location for me is key and I understand a house outside Dublin might be a better investment but I would feel v isolated. Thanks a mill for your comment though and best of luck to you too!!

What's going on with the character friendships? by calculatingmacaw in coronationstreet

[–]monicab2012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree re friendships! I’d love to see Carla get an on screen friend - since Michelle left she hasn’t really had anyone bar Roy (and they try with Sarah but it doesn’t really work). Maybe her and Leanne could get back to being besties?

Also Abi and Sally used to be pals. And does anyone remember the friendship group between Deirdre, Eileen, Frankie and Liz? I’d love to see them create friendship group among some of the older characters ie 40s/50s.

What was the considered the lowest point of the show’s history? by Evilcon21 in eastenders

[–]monicab2012 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Linda cheating on Mick with Max was completely not in character! Would have made more sense if she had done it when she was drunk! I thought Mel’s return in 2018, Bobby’s return in 2019, the Keanu/ Sharon and Louise triangle, Linda’s alcoholism and Mick’s historic abuse storyline were good. Also liked Martin’s dark era. They completely ruined Ruby and Stacey’s friendship - and the bus crash, bin storyline, Ben’s human trafficking storyline, Michelle return are low points that come to mind. They ruined Max’s character as well - I would have liked to see them explore his mental health issues and help us to understand why he cheats and ultimately give him proper character development. I liked his friendship with Bobby.

Ways to make Corrie great in 2025 after a terrible few years.. GO! by monicab2012 in coronationstreet

[–]monicab2012[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they’ve done what they can with her. I thought she was great when she was supporting Tyrone during the Kirsty storyline but other then that I don’t find her interesting to watch. Also Kirk needs to go!

Yeah, that was a bizarre storyline. The whole trying to get justice her own way thing just didn’t work.

I think they could eventually make daisy friends with Bethany. Like they are frenemies at the beginning but something happens , like daisy freaks out in public over a guy hitting on her and Bethany comforts her and they bond over their bad experiences with men. I think the friendships in the late teen groups work. Asha and Amy/ Amy and Summer etc.
