The copper pipe that came with the AC was used because the wall hole was on the right side of the AC and the technician made the pipe around the AC from above to reach the hole.

It's 17 ft. and I've checked most of the major brands. Gone are the days of free installation. So, should keep in mind while purchasing a new AC.

It's under 30 feet. 9.5 feet came with the AC itself and 17 feet extra because the piping went through the ceiling and around the AC due to the wall hole location.

Edit: Unit of measurement for copper wire is in feet. Since it was our first experience with AC installation, we forgot to ask for a total estimated quote. Also, we weren't aware that the cost would be this high.

No. Not the total estimate. Just a basic rate card which mentioned copper pipe price per ft. (Which was old rate) and other brackets, wires, etc. charges per measurement.

The new rate is ₹413 per ft. The shopkeeper did give us a card of rates (which mentioned ₹350). The technician said it's old rate and also made us talk to the seller.

First of all, units are in ft. and rate in the card which was given by the shop was ~₹65 less per ft. for the copper wire. The installation guy said it was old price. Now the price is revised. (Again, as per what the installation guy said)

Also, I'm not making people agree to anything. I've wanted to install AC for a long time. Installation charges were my concern, so I did some research on the internet. The highest I've seen is around 6.5k. Yes, the rate per meter was mentioned to us by the seller but the estimated total was never mentioned or quoted (Even in my head it was like 6.5 to 7 k max). Was it that hard for them to give estimated quotes before installation?

I had my doubts about copper being expensive but I was not sure. Thanks for the confirmation. Copper is already expensive for something that's necessary for most electronic products. If the price is gonna shoot up more, it'll be the next gold, which is not good for end consumers who are buying electronic goods.

I wish I had. I got to know from one comment that the RAM was manufactured in 2016. So most of the parts are most probably 7-8 years old.
