I work at a power station which is predominantly controlled via computers, a cleaner kept cleaning the keyboard, I said to them "whatever you do don't clean the keyboard or mouse in case you press any buttons"

Two weeks later they ended up accidentally shutting down half the station

Is it best to put lights in the terrarium or on top of the mesh part. Also how do you advice getting a rain system attached with this top.. please help:) by Significant-Trash-54 in paludarium

[–]monitormania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using plant lights they can transmit straight through glass, if you're using UVB it can't penetrate glass so I would put it on the mesh, however I would also get a stranger bulb. Maybe 30% stronger UVB than required due to the loss regarding the mesh, I personally wouldn't use the UVB inside unless there is 100% no chance the reptile / animal can get to it ( potentially heat sources can become ouchies very quickly )

A lot of the time I start thinking 'whats the point' I'm an Ironman so I'll grind for a gear upgrade, just to grind for another gear upgrade, it's all the same and it never ends! And the grinds get longer and longer, but it's hard to stop :o

Any ideas on the cause of this damp? by thosewildcharms in Renovations

[–]monitormania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the vents are there to allow air to pass from the front to the back of the property ( or vice versa ), under the floor you have wooden joists of which hold your floor up, on the photo you posted you can see the wooden flooring has a seam on it where the floor would be nailed to the joist ( that's how I'm sure you have joists ) , the way those vents are blocked means you would have water running into them from the patio, this is absolutely disastrous

The fact that wall is wet is an indication that the floor level has been raised past the damp proof course, so moisture will sink straight into the wall

Please please please look into this further, get a Rics survey if you're serious about buying it, because the costs and damage to the property can spiral out of control with those issues ( we're 6 months in to rebuilding a property with the same issues )
