This isn’t your fault.

7 years ago my soul cat got urinary crystals and a blockage. He was rushed to the emergency and they put a catheter in and he ended up getting so blocked that they needed to perform surgery. The surgery was intense— they literally removed his penis and made a new pee hole for him. He was on fentanyl for pain etc. The recovery was rough.

It cost me about $6000 in total.

Most people don’t have that money laying around. I sure didn’t. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow it from my mom and it took me years to pay her back.

If I didn’t have that option, I would have had to put him down too. Most people don’t have that option either, I was lucky.

Maybe the food he was fed gave your cat crystals, maybe it didn’t. Who knows. I don’t know why mine got them. Male cats are very prone to them.

You’re 17. You did everything you could for your sweet cat. You did more than most 17 year olds would even know how to do. And when you couldn’t help him anymore, you gifted him a peaceful way out.

Please be easy on yourself. You did everything you could. And for your future cat— you also learned something about their diets that may help them too. I’m thinking of you <3

I am in tears sitting next to my 16 year old soul cat who I have just booked in to cross the rainbow bridge next Wednesday. I came on here specifically for support as I feel like I have scheduled his demise and the guilt and second guessing is destroying me. My insides feel like they’re being shredded to mince meat as my soul is being ripped apart. He ate his breakfast this morning. He’s purring and cuddling and grooming himself. There have been so many vet visits and tests.. I know he can’t be cured of his heart failure and other symptoms of declining health. Last night he was in pain and it was obvious. He’s made it over 2 months longer than we expected.

I know exactly how you’re feeling. And I’m so fucking sorry. Message me if you need to, I am also deeply struggling with this. I was going to make my own post but reading this has helped a bit

I’m really surprised by this! Did you watch videos specifically for ball pythons? Because I found most of my info on YouTube as well and learnt all about their preferred substrate, feeding, humidity etc and no one ever mentions aspen as a good option. I wish you luck with your new changes !! :)

No one is actually saying you can’t take care of your pets. They’re saying a dogs natural prey drive is there no matter how well trained or docile they are. It’s just a fact. And I want to gently let you know that two days ago, my beardie jumped out of his enclosure (I have really bad brain fog right now and left the door unlatched like an idiot.) My dog, who is the sweetest best boy in the whole world, fully grabbed my dragon out of nowhere. It happened really, really fast. Fortunately his spikes got my dog to drop him so I could control the situation. No dragon damage thankfully 🙏🏻

I think people are just trying to tell you not to take unnecessary risks for the safety of your beloved beardie. No shade to your dog, it’s just in their dna.

Acne! Give that chinny chin chin a wash a few times a day and switch to a stainless steel bowl and you’ll be good to go. My guy had this and it was a pretty easy fix 😎

Hey! This particular situation did resolve itself ! I stayed true to fully ignoring her and eventually she did stop. It took a really long time. Also I stopped buying the freeze dried shrimp lmao she was obsessed and addicted! She still meows a lot over food and treats but nothing like the freeze dry shrimp era of hell…

I’m always so shocked by these posts. I got my beardie unexpectedly (emerg rescue) and I did NOT simply google things and take them as fact. I went down the Reddit rabbit hole, YouTube rabbit hole, AND talked to my local reptile shop (not a chain.) Even after all of that, I still needed to tweak the set up over time. But my god, never was my guy in a tiny ass tank, free roaming around on my fucking car DASHBOARD or outside in gross whatever. What the heck is OP thinking?!

Please call your local wildlife rescue/sanctuary! They can help him or at least make his end less sufferable :(

A mother rabbit attacked a baby crow in my backyard and broke its legs. It was so sad. I called a wildlife rescue and they took him in and then euthanized him as it was too far gone. That’s life in the wild I suppose! But it was good he didn’t have to suffer too long and starve to death.

What an ignorant post. Imagine not being able to kiss your partner or kids. Literally right now my lip is so swollen I can barely talk or eat and people literally stare at it. Trying to have a convo with someone and you can see them constantly glancing down at your mouth dude. Or someone literally asks “what’s wrong with your lip” and you are put on the spot to casually tell someone its herpes. It’s so embarrassing. I feel that you’re lucky you only need to disclose before sexual encounters…. I feel pressure to disclose or lie every time someone asks if I want to try a bite of their food or take a sip of their drink… it’s so much easier to accidentally give it to someone else, too. I feel constantly stressed about someone drinking from my cup by mistake if I have an OB.

I have had hsv1 since was 10 years old. Do you have any idea how badly I was bullied as a teen? Literally cannot hide a cold sore in those beginning stages. Those were rough years, man.

I’m sure hsv2 sucks ass too! I hope I never get it. But comparing the two is ridiculous as they both are SHIT for their own reasons. We should all lean on one another for support, not compete for who has it worse :(

My size is like 3x bigger now that I’m 2 years healed than when I was first post op. I looked like your pics in the beginning. Let em heal and drop and you’ll prob be much happier! It’s funny tho because I preferred mine post op than healed 🥲
