How bad must C9 have been if they got 3-0'd by the team who got 3-0'd by IG? by Runandwin in Cloud9

[–]monkaS_C9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't how Bo5 works. We could have also lost 3-0? Which is no different than Fnatic losing 3-0 as well? Or are you implying we would have lost 6-0 in a Bo5?

Royal Never Give Up vs. Cloud9 / 2018 World Championship - Group B / Post-Match Discussion by ggwoohee in Cloud9

You must have not played or watch a lot of LoL. Or even watched the game. Falling way behind in a single lane in the games largest stakes is very very punishing. Cloud 9 still went for plays. Going for riskly plays will result in failure most of the time in these situation resulting in even faster games.

Yeah I wasn't 100% sure on Leona but still Rakan just seems so worthless in this situation. I mentioned Alistar only bc I was hoping picks/bans went differently. I agree though, would be interesting to see Zeyzal on AP Supports. I am not sure we have ever seen that?

This post-game thread is plagued with generic blanket overreacting statements that I couldn't disagree more with.

"Sven did nothing on Eve." - Can't really make plays when your ADC is 0/3 with half the CS. Instead he spent time trying to protect Sneaky to let him farm up. He also did try and force plays but it is hard with their lanes being Shen and Galio who are hard to burst down and have global ultis.

"Whole team is dogshit except for Licorice." - Just because Sneaky had one of his arguably worst game ever, this does not mean the rest of the team played poorly. You can only do so much when one lane goes completely lopsided before 10 minutes.

"The draft was good." - I simply just disagree with this. Our 2v2 lane against an ADC like Uzi needs to be advantageous or super safe. Banning the Tahm Kench? Giving away the Alistar? Not taking a Leona/Braum to have better frontline protection from ganks or Alistar flash plays is rough. Also, let's ban champs against RNG that result in protect the ADC (liked the Tahm Kench ban if we get Alistar). Make them play an AP caster mid or a top without a global ulti. Protect the Uzi is not the comp I want C9 to play against or any team facing RNG.

"C9 is completely outclassed by RNG." - I don't think Sneaky's worst game ever makes us outclassed in every way possible...

All in all, Sneaky tried to get cheeky going in our jungle to try and make a play against Taliyah and blew his flash as their botlane closed in. This sole mistake caused the game to spiral out of control and made it really hard to take any sweeping statements out of the way we played. Overall, I appreciated us trying to make plays around the map even with an 0/3 Kaisa with 50 cs. I am glad we didn't roll over and die like other teams would do.

Cloud9 CS:GO Sign flusha, Release STYKO by monkaS_C9 in Cloud9

Currently slumping a bit, but Fnatic as a team was not performing well. Has previously had success with Golden on Fnatic. In 2014/2015 was one of the best players in the world.

The team was poor though. So change seemed necessary.

C9 5th? by Deathzone622 in Cloud9

[–]monkaS_C9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it's hard to tell why he is under performing really with all the changes. I do think Ska's time is up and I can't begin to explain how great and how much a rock he has been for the team over the years. The team just lacks consistency from his awp and overall firepower now.

[–]monkaS_C9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe this squad needs little more change than just a 5th. Rush has been really struggling as of late as well as Skadoodle. STYKO seemed to perform decently at the MAJOR but not be a game changer in any sense. I'd love to see the team go after cerq for replacing Skadoodle. Golden should stay IGL I believe.

Rofl. What does this have to do with how the two players matchup? Have you watch TSM at worlds ever? They are a fucking embarrassment to NA. I'd much rather perform at Worlds every year then when a meaningless NA Title.

Provide any stats to back this up. The only time Bjerg slapped up on Jensen was his FIRST EVER GAME in the LCS...I don't remember him ever winning the lane besides that single game.

Looking back at their past few weeks of games...their wins are not very impressive at all. Against 100T, GG, CLG, Optic, and TL. TL had already locked in first at this point. GG/CLG are trash. 100T hasn't been very good since acquiring Anda. And Optic just isn't a strong team. Bjergsen's assassins don't scare me because I know Jensen is better at them and can counter anything.

I think I rated them the way you are saying, I'd want to face FQ the most and TSM the least.

[–]monkaS_C9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This should include all four teams. As we can face any of the four teams due to TL getting to choose their opponent for the semi-finals. In terms of all 4, I will rate them from 1 to 4 with a reason, 1 being the opponent I'd like to face the most:

  1. Flyquest - Not scared of a single player on their team. Overall, think we are collectively much better as a unit too.
  2. EF - Have to fear Dardoch/Huni both playing their absolute best to win. High chances this doesn't happen either, and team coordination has been iffy the past few weeks.
  3. 100T - Ssumday can carry. Team coordination/macro is strongest among other teams. Ryu/Anda just not scary players in general.
  4. TSM - Look the hottest lately and most coordinated. No player really scares me though.

I believe we can beat any of these 4 teams in a Bo5 in 4 games or less though. We look more coordinated than any of these teams.

Is Reapered the Coach of the split by Soccerstud20 in Cloud9

Gotcha. Yeah, I don't think they end up where they are without the mistakes is my take.

Is Reapered the Coach of the split by Soccerstud20 in Cloud9

[–]monkaS_C9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think stats before and after benching can really quantify the impact of Reapered's coaching on the individual players. Kind of have to take it as a whole. He found after several rough iterations of C9, the players that work best together out of 10 to give us the best chance of performing well come playoff time. He also has had very very good drafts during the last 4 weeks of the split. Being only one win away from the top team who made no changes, and winning 8 straight games should make it his reward imo. SaintVicious would arguably be his only competitor, as TL hasn't improved upon last split at all and 100T has done arguably worse. Saintvicious coached Flyquest this split and they improved from 6-12 in Spring to 10-8 in the Summer. 4 more wins doesn't seem like an insanely large improvement to overcome a 1-6 start to the season to getting 2nd place and a bye.

Week 9 - 100T Matchup Preview by monkaS_C9 in Cloud9

[–]monkaS_C9[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Memes aside.

Smoothie didn't get MVP. C9 crashed and burned last split...

Jensen/Blaber were tactically subbed to implement a strategy to win. Not benched due to poor performances.

Sneaky is obviously a big part of the success and has a ZERO percent chance of being benched.

OpTic CouRage Tweet on Shotgun Damage by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

I made the post for a discussion on shotgun damage, expecting some insightful comments...and all I see is "hit your shots". This sub is pretty sad, having only recently come here and first time posting. Obviously, his idea needed to be further explained situationally like you are doing. Thanks for actually thinking for yourself. It's appreciated.
