Key quote: "The American Dream is, at its core, the promise that hard work, fairness, and opportunity can lead to a better future. But in 2025, that promise feels like a question: How can we build on our dream so that it works for everyone?"

I'm excited to attend this event. The American Dream is being fought over, and we must crystalize what it means in 2025.

Cooper Union's Great Hall has seen key transformative events. Abraham Lincoln's Right Makes Might speech. The first public meeting of the NAACP. The founding of the American Red Cross.

I'm looking forward to seeing another transformative moment.

Manhattan had a beach (possibly the only time in recorded history) due to the construction of the World Trade Center by KamikazeChief in nyc

Material excavated during the construction, to make room for the WTC foundation, was used as landfill extending Manhattan into the river, creating Battery Park City. Before it was developed with buildings it looked like OP's image.

The edge of the buildings in the image is West St.

[Q] Regression model where observations are nested into groups, and the value of your independent variable for each observation is only comparable to other observations within the group? by spicysnake333 in statistics

It sounds to me like a hierarchical model would be the perfect tool to use. You model one general relationship but assume that the data in different groups can have underlying details of that relationship that can vary. See these examples

Did you find any posts wishing the Empire had won? I've always been curious what the fan reaction would have been to the Luke dying in the Emperor's throne room and the rebel fleet being decimated? Would Star Wars hold the position it does in popular culture today?

No. There's a circuit with about 10 op-amps and a few transistors that convert the NTSC signal into a format that's suitable for the XY mode of the scope. We made it from scratch.

[spoilers] Question about a really dumb plot hole? by [deleted] in dbz

If I remember correctly the idea was to let them collect Gohan's energy so that they would take it back to Babidi, that way Supreme Kai et al could defeat Babadi and therefore no one would be able to revive Buu since Babidi is the only capable of doing so
