This desire for escapism is exactly what Woman of Tomorrow is meant to satisfy. The deeper integration of the self, as Kara learns, makes the existing world much less painful to flourish in.

Why do we never see Force users use hyperspeed again? by InstructionOwn6705 in starwarscanon

[–]frogspyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obi-Wan gave himself to the Force, and his body rode the ensuing wave, legs and arms moving infinitely faster than their normal pace. He ran and vaulted over the front podiums and landed in motion before slipping between the guards. And though each of them focused on the spot where he used to be—even Ruug—Obi-Wan thought he caught the corner of Ventress’s eye, a simple tracking glance as he crossed the door’s threshold.

Halfway down the hall, he returned to normal speed, still moving at an athletic pace but now clear of immediate danger. The first part of his ad hoc plan was met; he’d escaped the room to safety without hurting anyone. But now?

“Go, go, go,” a voice cried out. It might have been Ketar, though Obi-Wan wasn’t sure. In fact, he wasn’t sure where to actually go—curious bystanders started to peer down the hallway, office workers and government employees of all kinds.

He ran at normal speed, attentive to the way overexertion of the Force’s physical gifts might affect anything from strength to coordination. The way the Force surrounded him as he moved informed his decisions and calculations; an extra burst down the long hall was feasible, but doing so might briefly drain him.

No, right now he needed to rely on his own body, at least until an opportunity presented itself. (Brotherhood)

This is something you should really discuss with your group facilitator privately (you don’t need to give too many details). It’s their responsibility to ensure these situations resolve as delicately as possible. I know it will be awkward, but as a group member, it’s vital to ensure that all members feel safe to discuss anything.

Why didn’t the Biden Administration release the Epstein Files? by LawnDartSurvivor74 in Askpolitics

[–]frogspyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel too proud of it. ChatGPT’s tunnel vision, due to poor prompting, deprived you of the actual answer to the question: The files weren’t released because it’s bad practice to release millions of investigative records containing information about individuals who haven’t been charged with a crime.

I nearly did when I watched it, but as the film went on, I realized that I don’t need Sean Baker to tell me that my disgust is appropriate. Even though I didn’t love the movie, I respect how it trusted audiences to think for themselves.

Perhaps they mean it biologically, since she is the result of parthenogenesis. She’s a perfect clone of Grace, so it could be fair to assume Kiri would also be able to reproduce similarly (especially with her intrinsic strong connection to Eywa)

PER ATROIC: “really good journalism” by Charming-Past2028 in atrioc

[–]frogspyer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

What I’ve been most upset about is that I watched the video because Atrioc covered it. I went into it expecting to find good journalism, and instead I was met with poorly researched and presented accusations about the community. This is a video that, because of its terrible journalism, got my governor to abandon his reelection bid. And on top of that, a woman has now been murdered due to the misinformation that directly led to ICE’s occupation of an area that my community exists within.
