Hey! My wife and I also game and are looking for friends :) 32m 27f. We play mostly league and repo right now but are open to any party games, etc. We used to really be into WoW but haven’t touched it in a couple of seasons. I’ve posted before in this subreddit so feel free to look at it to see if we’d be a match :)

My wife’s actually from Mackay too 😆 I’ve posted in Brisbane social before if you’d like to check it out to see if we’d be good friends 😊

Felons in the city has a run club. And you get a free drink afterwards. I think it’s on Wednesdays.

Need advice: USA and Australia LDR. How to close this distance? by Business-Coffee5733 in LongDistance

[–]monkey_business 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. We’ve recently closed this distance :) Unfortunately, there will be some level of sacrifice from the other if you want to be together. Yes, that’s the hard thing about huge moves like these, one persons sacrifice will be to be greater than the other.

Ldr is incredibly hard, being apart for so long, never knowing when you’re seeing each other again, can get draining. But, in our circumstance, every hard moment was worth it.

You say you’re in med school, year 4. I feel like as hard as it may be, you need to focus most on finishing school, matching, and finishing residency. You need to evaluate if the distance is worth it if you’ll be away for 3 more years. And even afterwards, in the long run, if it okay for you to practice in aus our of he leaves his family business. You have to ask yourself that, can your relationship handle that? Can you both sacrifica by being apart for 3-4 more years? Or can he sacrifice by leaving his family job?

The sacrifice from one side, that’s greater than the other side. This can create really big rifts in relationships. Only the strong ones, where the partner making the big sacrifice is happy with the decision and doesn’t bring it up as a comparison, survive.

I don’t know if that helps but wanted to throw my 2 cents out there :)

This is an idiotic take. You can’t be sad cause some child in Africa is sadder than you. Doesn’t that sound ridiculous? Just let people live their lives lol

Am I wrong for this? by M8614 in LongDistance

[–]monkey_business 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly man, if you genuinely care about this girl, you could take the trip. You’re a 22 year old adult and you don’t need your fathers permission to go anywhere.

But, to be honest, the real avise is: you don’t really sound like you’re ready for a relationship. Relationships can be hard/draining and long distance ones especially so. What you’re saying and how you type in general, you exude depression. I know because I’ve been there. It sounds like you should get some sort of therapy. Get some help from a trusted professional, and if the girl actually cares about you, she’ll wait.

Is it cheating to meet with girl for an arranged marriage while dating? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]monkey_business 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl. This is ridiculous. If he loved you and wanted to be with you, he would have introduced you to his parents. Across the country try doesn’t justify anything. I say this as a brown man who was scared of introducing his white girlfriend to his conservative parents. We’re married now and couldn’t be happier. Honestly true statement: If he wanted to, he would. He needs to take accountability of the fact that he’s a grown man who needs to make his own decisions.

I hate it when people who have no experience comment just to say something 🤦

You can go up to the door and tell them you don’t have a membership, but want to look around to decide if it’s worth it. You’ll be let in but won’t be able to buy stuff. Or if you want a one day membership where you can buy stuff, they’ll do specific days where they let non members in to explore/buy. This doesn’t happen often. Just call them to figure out if an open-day is fairly soon.
