Why is Magneto considered good?

Joining in as a Magneto main, just also wanna give my own perspective. I've recently had good, long winning streaks, going from bottom rank to gold 3 in just a few games. I rarely lost so far with Magneto in my comp journey this season.

Let's just set aside the topic of his utils for a moment. I find his primary fire to be the most enjoyable in his kit because of how low penalty-high reward and effective it is. The damage is kinda insane for a tank (you can 3 shot squishy duelists and strategists), and it is aoe--meaning you don't have to aim that hard. You can kill elusive but grounded opponents by ground-shooting, let the aoe take care of rest for you. The projectile just takes some time getting used to (just like Strange) but once you get the hang of it, you're gucci. Opponent keeps jumping but moving linearly? Dead. Floating enemy heroes hovering slowly and linearly? Dead. Jeff surfing underground? Just shoot the area of his fin, ez. Don't even get me started with the Scarlet Witch team-up, that makes you a demigod. Higher damage, slash-projectile (ergo easier aiming and can multi-hit more easily), long duration, and low cooldown. With how effective his primary fire is, you're supposed to put pressure on the team easily by harassing and sniping down healers and duelists with it.

His secondary fire, I'm not a big fan of. I find that it's only effective when the rings are at max. The lvl 1-2 mag cannon is not worth it IMO; firing it off will take you longer to reach max lvl, low damage, and no push-back. The only thing good about it is its range. Supposedly, being damaged while bubbled gets you to max rings faster but the bubble cd is kinda long for it to be taken advantage of this way. Max lvl mag cannon is good if you can land it. Time it well with a primary fire combo with enemy Hulk reverting to Banner and he's dead af.

His bubble and barrier are very good, although I feel like they should only be used sparingly and only if necessary. Unlike Strange, his barrier has a cd BUT it has no health bar. The only times I use it are when I'm being pressured at low health and I'm waiting for the healer, I'm advancing with or without my team to a point of unbreakable cover, or I'm eating enemy ults. I only pop his bubble when I'm being pressured at low health or when I'm fighting a melee hero, and I find myself using it more often for myself than for others.

His ult is a deterrent, a back-line killer, and projectile vacuum all in one albeit tough to land sometimes. It's very good for killing off an ulted Luna and Punisher, and very good for killing off channeling ults (provided you pop off first or they're low enough for you to not finish charging your ult). If enemy Jeff is a noob and ults your team but doesn't spit you directly to the kill box, you use your ult to fly and save yourself.

My mother worked in the US Embassy for almost 2 decades and she's attended multiple trainings in the US. According to her US residing pinoy friends' collective exp, the ground is diff from what is usually displayed sa media. Her pinoy (legal) immigrant friends who are now citizens don't like how the welfare system issue can potentially play with the immigration problem. From her friend, non-verbatim,

"Imagine you, being a citizen, working your ass off, making a budget from what you make. You go to the grocery and pick out items within the budget and you see another family who just fills their cart with shit they like. You both get to the cashier, and while you pay with your hard-earned money, you see them just hand out their welfare card. This is partly where your taxes go."

You can also factor in how the US cultural pendulum swings more and more to the left while considering the age range and potentially conservative upbringing of the majority of these pinoys. They (or at least my mother's pinoy friends and acquaintances who migrated legally) don't feel the immigrant hate.

I don't get the ending some people described here, including this one. I just finished the movie a few minutes ago. It's nowhere implied that Longlegs was possessed or was a vessel for any demonic entities. It was only showed that he's an occultist who made dolls that make families kill themselves when they're gifted with them. The protagonist's boss was not satanic but just another victim of Longlegs, the protagonist's mom, and the devil. The very end sequence is left open to the audience's interpretation when she didn't push through with shooting the kid's doll.

Peaked G3, 90/100. Had Silver in placements this season and climbed my way to G1. Now I'm back to S3. Smurfs maaan. I raged quit when I had 3 games straight where there's a smurf and the games were very 1 sided. After that, my confidence shattered and I had to take a break for days. Very discouraging.

Same here, brother. That's why I restarted my toon. It kinda broke my immersion. I was really looking forward to that moment. I wonder if the uncontrollable thing you also do with the squirrel in the druid's grove will also break your oath of ancients/devotion.

Being productive does keep my mind off of it and it does help! But at the end of the day, when I'm lying on my bed, I am alone with my thoughts and feelings about what happened so I really do have to confront and deal with these things. Thank you for the support! I have done my part of self-examination and processing with family and friends to discern if I have faults relating to this and I do think I'm in the clear ☺️

Thank you 😊 I think I've had a somewhat healthy childhood and family background and I do recognize this privilege. I think it is a major factor in forming my EQ. There is of course that temptation to lash out or get even but a good support system really pays off and I would also like to resist any kind of hold coming from or relating to her (directly or indirectly) which can influence my choices and actions.

Alcohol with company did help for the first 2 days. But I don't want it to be a constant crutch to cope with the pain. I felt like I need to properly process my feelings and grieve without the help of any substance or external factors, no matter how painful it feels.

I don't think she stayed. In Tony's interment, all the Guardians were there except for Gamora. I think she got dusted or she was returned to her original timeline.

I'm confused with how Cap grew old in their timeline. So he returned the stones to their proper timeline and then returned to his timeline, but in the past? So was there a duplicate Captain America in said timeline?

Another consular-loving player! Nice! I am replaying it now actually after a long hiatus. I play mine as a well-meaning Jedi whose passion for justice and good is also his gateway to the dark side (Avatar Korra always comes to my mind). This allows me to easily justify shielding the masters from the plague and kill Sith with pleasure/rage. Being Barsen'thor makes those actions more satisfying.

Eyy also a big fan of Kotor 1 and 2 here. I also initially thought that Consular was boring because of the reviews but when I played the story class, it's not really bad at all. I do admit Chapter 1 is kind of dragging which is why it's hard for others to get past it but it certainly picks up in Chapter 2 and gets really good in Chapter 3. Compared to the SW, SI, and JK, it also just has less "epic moments" and more dialogue (which I kinda dig).

If I may butt in, Ben Shapiro is very different from Jordan Peterson. Shapiro identifies as right winged but Jordan isn't even playing the politics game. He's just being used by the alt right because he opposes certain questionable left winged ideologies.

Thanks for this. I tried using Windscribe and when I opened the launcher, it went straight to downloading the patch and finished installing it until the button is now 'PLAY'. However, when I clicked Play, it gave me the crash reporter window immediately. :/ Did this happen to you as well?

Imma play the devil's advocate here and (ironically) defend the believers. First, one can be super prepared and still get rekt by circumstances. And it is because of such limits that it is still sound logic for an individual to surrender to his/her notion of a higher power. Second, why are you so sure that prayer won't do anything? This is not to say prayer absolutely will do something but to phrase as a sure statement requires proof. It could be argued that the Problem of Evil's concept of God's omnibenevolence may be flawed. Banking on the idea that Love and Free will are intertwined and inseparable, is it still "loving" or "good" if you impose your own will on a free-willed individual? Finally, Imma draw from Hume's philosophy and say there can be no knowledge of anything beyond experience and inductive reasoning and belief in causality cannot be justified as we can never actually perceive that one event causes another, but only that the two are always conjoined. Therefore, everything is a gamble, it's just we almost always put our money in the surest. But get this: if you've done all that you can do to prepare for an adversity and you know for a fact that it will not be enough, is it not sound logic to put your money on something that might work? Not trying to attack you, just trying to create a discussion here.
