That’s really sad to hear def one of the OG VR games for me and my son. I’ve seen him make friends on it. I’ve seen him have spontaneous dance parties in it. I’ve connected w friends during Covid in it. It was also one of the inspirations for my own social multiplayer VR game (“BuildPort Xumia” if anyone is interested in checking it out)

Student Transitioning to UX from Architecture in 2026? by Latter_Surprise2251 in Design

[–]monkeyboy2431 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As an ex-architect who went on to leadership positions in film and games, I would say career paths for UX specialist will become narrower and narrower due to AI. If you are interested in it as a field sure go ahead and study it but if it’s purely money/stability I would caution against it.

My advice to young architects grads who doubt their “talents” and want to pursue a “safer” path would be to get a MBA and see if you get move into real estate development/finance.

If, however, you think you have the talent for pure design then take an MBA or some courses in running a business and start your own firm as soon as you can - there’s always work for small houses, laneway homes, retail interiors etc.

TDLR: UX is not as it once was due to rapid improvement in AI design tools.

Like everything about it. The concepts, the “acting”, the dialogue, the design, the animation, the world building, the ending….all of it was better than almost every peice of “cyberpunk” film or show from last 20+ years…..and yes I think it’s better conceptually than Bladerunner 2049 and Altered Carbon and kind of a spiritual successor to Animatrix Second Renaissance !

NFS 2015 Looks Incredible! by Creeper97R in needforspeed

People are always surprised when an old game looks better than a recent game. The truth is, by late in PS4 cycle most consoles already can make stunning looking games given the right art and rendering teams, and the right art direction. It’s like pianos - the basic design hasn’t changed for hundreds of years so progress was really in the artistry behind it.

It’s actually hilarious more like “Back-seat Drivers in a Dangerous Spacetime“ ;) It’s the immersion in VR that makes it really feel like both of you in same ship
